"The only one allowed to launder money and sell crypto is me"

-Telegram

Funny how they operated on open-ish, centralized, highly accessible social media, yet Telegram has basically zero liability for hosting it, and seemingly little motivation to seek out such things.

It’s almost like trusting commercial social media to be decent arbiters, in exchange for their legal protection, isn’t working out so well…

Not sure if you heard the news but the founder was put in jail for it for a while. He's now complying with gov requests to remove chat groups.

Whole place glows like it's bioluminescent at this point.

A shame really.

I really liked being able to buy Monero with PayPal on LocalMarket and sellers always used TG, bit of a scam exchange rate wise but well worth it for small domestic DNM orders without fucking with KYC data harvesting ops like exchanges etc. and then have to mess with atomic swaps and whatnot just because the gov't fascists-in-chief used my taxes to ban BTC ATMs from back in the day.

I imagine the sellers used this to launder money they made as vendors on DNMs or some such enterprise.

Go Bisq or RetoSwap, there are Simplex channels too

I know some of these words

monero (xmr) is an untraceable cryptocurency

TG is a bank

KYC means know your costumer

atomic swaps are a way of buying some crypto for other crypto

DNMs I think are darknet markets

Whole plays glows

You mean “[the] whole place glows?”

Yeah sorry already edited the comment. Feels like my grammar has gone to shit lately.

It’s fine, I’ve just seen a lot of weird comments today so I was starting to wonder if they’re generated comments somehow.

could we get a how-to from you about buying Monero and atomic swaps and all that?

[–] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Step one seems to be "find a new market" now that you cant use this one anymore.

[–] untakenusername@sh.itjust.works 1 points 21 hours ago

why not? any alternative to mining at home?

Can't say I'm upset here.
