Disco Elysium made me feel a lot better about waking up.
At the start, you are trapped in a void, asleep, only able to communicate with your most basic unconscious functions.
Eventually you run out of dialog and realize you should probably wake up. You know, somehow, there will be great pain awaiting you, but also everything else that comes with it.
Eventually you choose to wake up, you choose to go back into the world because taking the pain with the pleasure is more interesting than staying in the void.
What will i find in this waking world? What will become of me? I gotta play to find out!
Try antidepressants
They stave off the soul-crushing void of despair and the suicidal urges for me, but not the low-grade dissatisfaction with being alive.
The world spirit is in a bad way atm, but never forget that a key ingredient of happiness is to be without some of the things you want
