Rules

  1. Be nice to each other. Being aggressive or inflammatory towards other users will get you banned. Name calling or obvious trolling falls under that. Hate cars, hate the system, but not people. While some drivers definitely deserve some hate, most of them didn't choose car-centric life out of free will.

  2. No bigotry or hate. Racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, chauvinism, fat-shaming, body-shaming, stigmatization of people experiencing homeless or substance users, etc. are not tolerated. Don't use slurs. You can laugh at someone's fragile masculinity without associating it with their body. The correlation between car-culture and body weight is not an excuse for fat-shaming.

  3. Stay on-topic. Submissions should be on-topic to the externalities of car culture in urban development and communities globally. Posting about alternatives to cars and car culture is fine. Don't post literal car fucking.

  4. No traffic violence. Do not post depictions of traffic violence. NSFW or NSFL posts are not allowed. Gawking at crashes is not allowed. Be respectful to people who are a victim of traffic violence or otherwise traumatized by it. News articles about crashes and statistics about traffic violence are allowed. Glorifying traffic violence will get you banned.

  5. No reposts. Before sharing, check if your post isn't a repost. Reposts that add something new are fine. Reposts that are sharing content from somewhere else are fine too.

  6. No misinformation. Masks and vaccines save lives during a pandemic, climate change is real and anthropogenic - and denial of these and other established facts will get you banned. False or highly speculative titles will get your post deleted.

  7. No harassment. Posts that (may) cause harassment, dogpiling or brigading, intentionally or not, will be removed. Please do not post screenshots containing uncensored usernames. Actual harassment, dogpiling or brigading is a bannable offence.

Please report posts and comments that violate our rules.

I hate how car centric infrastructure makes walking out of your house and into a bus really dangerous.

Attempting an illegal maneuver? That driver completely lost control over their car. Trying to pass a bus on the right side, driving over the grass at high speed. That's a bit more than "attempting an illegal maneuver". That driver should lose their license and never get it back. Someone capable of such deranged decisions should not be driving.

Quiz: What is wrong with this picture?

  1. No sidewalks or pedestrian infrastructure
  2. That car is attempting an illegal maneuver because they think they're so much more important than literally everyone else
  3. No public transportation forcing people to drive thus making people who should not be operating a vehicle (most people) to do so
  4. Due to being a suburb theres a severe lack of density causing less people being around and the driver to be paying less attention

Conclusion: Fuck cars and fuck suburbs

As a European I visited the USA a couple of times in the past. (NEVER when that traitorous malevolent megalomaniacal mango mussolini was in charge), I always noticed the sheer amount of seriously lacking drivers. Or poorly maintained cars (and roads).

What's up with that? How can you let such incredulously bad drivers loose on the road?

The answer is simple, generally speaking in the US unless you live in NYC or Chicago (along with certain parts of Philadelphia or Boston) you have no other choice but to drive a car, if someone sucks at driving a car thats everyone elses problem. As for the infrastructure its because we simply cannot be bothered to maintain it because our gov would rather spend all the money bombing children and torturing civilians.

we need to bomb children to siphon up oil to power the cars that we need because we don't invest in infrastructure because we need to bomb childreo te siphon up oil to…

(the root problem is an economic system that relies entirely on there being things under the dirt that mean some people are rich and other people do work so that some people are rich)

My family was recently rear ended right at a school bus stop. We were stopped to make a left. The person behind us took a good minute to reach us and the road is basically straight. I don't understand what the thinking is or what for this person to be moving a 3000lb vehicle without looking forward. I just don't want them allowed to be on the road when my kids use that bus stop to go to school.

The person got a "tail gating" ticket. The dumb cop didn't even ask any details. I took two simple photos.. One where our van stopped and another where it started. I calculated the other car running at 45mph on a 30mph zone... Without looking at where it was going. Geez!
