Is this any different from doing Ctrl+I for page info and selecting the Media tab (which is what I currently do for this)?

That's way more secure than using any extension.
that's true, if you want the upmost security you should probably not install anything but ublock origin since every extension you add creates another possible attack surface. in that cases extensions aren't designed for you. i personally try to keep it minimal but have a few for practical reasons.
i didnt know about that! there is some overlap, but ushiro can fetch images in a few more cases. ctrl+i only shows images firefox knows are part of the page. it's also more convenient and better looking imo. if you prefer to have as little extensions as possible ctrl+i may suit your needs tho!
