So sayeth Amazon. Am I supposed to believe this PR regurgitated by Variety?

“It’s important to note that the company does not publicly define what counts as a viewer…” 😆

The numbers themselves? Pinch of salt, we don’t know their metric for what a “viewer” is.

Relative performance on the platform? You can rely on that, as Amazon sells ad time based on ratings and has to be honest with madison avenue.

So there could be "viewer bots" at some point just to inflate viewer counts?

At that point why not just lie and make up a number?

Even with unclear metrics, per Amazon, the only debut series to ever outperform it have been “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Fallout.” That means “Off Campus” is tracking above heavyweights like “The Boys,” “Reacher,” “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and more.

"Fallout" is based on the games, "The Boys" is based on the comics, and everything else is based on books. Does Amazon have any big series that are original material? "Upload" is the first show I can think of that seems to be original, but I don't know if it's big.
