Israeli attacks killed at least 83 people in Lebanon over the past 24 hours, as officials in Tel Aviv have openly urged the army to 'burn Lebanon'

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced on 20 June the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all shipping traffic in response to ongoing Israeli violations of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding (MOU) inside Lebanon.

“It is hereby announced that the Strait of Hormuz will be closed to vessel traffic; it is noted that this first step is a response to the enemy’s breach of promise, and if the aggression continues, further steps will be planned and taken to force the enemy to comply with its obligations,” a statement carried by Iran’s Mehr News Agency reads.

“We confirm that this is the first step in response to the enemy's breach of its commitments. In the event of continued aggressions, further steps will be planned and implemented to compel the enemy to abide by and implement its obligations."

The Israeli assault on Lebanon has persisted without interruption since the MoU was signed earlier this week, despite the fact that a ceasefire and the withdrawal of occupation troops from Lebanon are key components of the agreement.
