Itd be funny if it wasn't so fucking sad and terrifying that -this- is what gets them to mobilize.
It's because they think fascism is great, but concentration camps are a little too messy, it's easier just throwing people in for-profit prisons.
US prisons are just a slower concentration camp.

To push back against recent victories by democratic socialists, 15 centrist Democrats on Thursday announced their support for the “Promise to America” manifesto in which they emphasize their support for capitalism, law enforcement, and “fiscal discipline.”
Wow the first and most important thing for these politicians is that they are capitalists.
"We are capitalists, not socialist."
You heard it here first people. If you are a socialist then you are under no obligation to help the Dems when they try to put yet another empty-suit into office.

And I'm glad they specify that only full-time work should earn you the most basic standard of living and ignore the capitalist ideal of doing everything you can to pay workers as little as possible.
That is a declaration of war by them against America.
Capitalism is incompatible with democracy. Fuck these ghouls.
Wanting both capitalism and democracy at the same time is like wanting a republic but the lords should own all the land. And then being suprised that the landlords use their ownership of the land as leverage to force unpopular decisions
good thing they did this now, if they were smart they would have waited till progressives thought they had a majority then cock-blocked a vote
the word for these kinds of Democrats is collaborationist
The current Democratic leadership hold basically the same views as the pre-MAGA Republicans. And anyone who thinks they weren't evil needs to read up on Newt Gingrich. I'm happy to see them differentiate themselves from the progressives. They've been coasting along on support from people who have always supported the Democrats, but haven't looked closely at what that has come to mean.
I still don't know who's more terrified the right , due to being so uninformed. Or the democratic establishment

I hope this eventually gets big enough to be a true splinter party we can move to. (Meaning move to a new Democratic Socialist Party)
While I'm no longer a fan of Chomsky, he was right about the controlled opposition thing
Chomsky aptly described all the problems, but then presented the wrong solution. He revealed the imperialist oligarchy but told people to vote for Hillary anyways.
