I've been saying for years that query syntax in big name searches doesn't work or only works sometimes. It's awful and super useless.

the only winning move is not to play

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

⬆️ The more we do that, the more creators will move to other platforms, this is truly the winning move.

What other platforms? From what I've heard there isn't any other viable, quality platform. YouTube effectively a monopoly

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 5 points 22 hours ago

There is no competitor, not on the same scale. There are however initiatives that matter. Platforms created by YouTube creators unhappy with YouTube policy like https://nebula.tv/ and https://www.2ndtry.tv/ ; open-source non-profit developers created PeerTube for example https://peertube.tv/ ; there are competitors in live streaming like Twitch, competitors in professional video hosting like Vimeo. Obviously that is not a one-stop shop like YouTube and a lot of those competors operate under the same laws; but the more traffic those platforms get, the more likely a creator is to (also) post there.

A couple of days ago, I had to look outside of YouTube for song mixes from before 2022 so I wouldn't end up with that AI-gen crap that's flooding that web right now.

Working keyword exclusion.

EDIT: Also, I have owned multiple DT 770 Pros and they're my favorite non-ANC headphones that I've used over the years, if you're thinking about them.

I second that. I've had 990s for a long time and recently switched to the 770 pro X, great headphonss

So you're still using it because...?

[–] nogooduser@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

It has a lot of content that isn’t available anywhere else. Sometimes the best option is still shit.
