Somewhat even more annoying with ankle length socks and non-tall shoes - works fine with many, but with some particular pairs the socks run down just enough to make it impossible to fix without untying the shoes.
This is why I stick to opaque footwear that you can't see through unless you've got special powers like a superhero or you've got special equipment, if you know what I mean.
Sock like this, wet patch, a small stone and your toe nail snagging on the sock.
You may not like it, but this is what peak fashion looks like.
Now make it wet and stick a piece of gravel in there.
With a blister forming on the heel.
