The war in Ukraine is still going and Trump can't stop giving concessions to Russia.

Wins Election - Pisses off every ally / NATO member

Tariffs the word - Except North Korea and Russia

Bombs Iran - Remove Sanctions on Russian Oil

Ukraine turns tide in War - Trump bombs kids

Russian oil depots on fire - Trump pulling troops out of Baltic NATO Allies.

Make no mistake those 500-600 patriots were likely training allies.

Kraznov is getting a bonus this year.

Or maybe we were training them :P

In all seriousness, the professional military here in Estonia is actually pretty good. I reckon both sides would have something to learn from eachother.

I absolutely, agree. It benefits us both to have NATO allies working together.

Putin's Bitch remains one of Trump's more accurate nicknames.

Yet more weakening of the U.S. on an international scale. Probably a good thing for humanity at this point.

Trump is Putins creature.

What do Estonian think about this?

Honestly I generally the world is better off without US bases everywhere, but I wonder if this is a case where Etonians actually want US bases to keep Putin (and the oligarchs that he represents) away.

Estonians absolutely want and welcome the US presence. It's a difficult balance because there's also a huge dickhead in charge of the us right now and it's impossible to ignore israeli atrocities. Kaja Kallas is a former leader of Estonia and is in hot water with israel right now for calling them out.

Despite what tankies try to say, russian imperialism was and is a horrific experience and is not something they are willing to repeat. Basically every single family in Estonia lost family because russians are barbaric monsters.

I was surprised to hear this and apparently I missed this story:

https://www.euractiv.com/news/israel-cuts-all-contact-with-kaja-kallas-over-apartheid-comments/

incredibly limp wristed, she just said (apparently, article didn't directly quote) that 'Israel is acting like apartheid era South Africa towards Palestinians'. Are they giving her political cover as a favor?? It was the mildest possible criticism she could have made

Israel intentionally makes the biggest response to even the smallest comment about them. They're only interested in furthering their fascist takeover of the Levant. Absolute shit country.

Rather have a few hundred or even thousand American troops chilling out at Tapa than a special military operation from across the border personally. Having American troops here used to be a better deterrent than any amount of weaponry because it meant an attack here is also an attack against the US military even without NATO article 5 being invoked. Now with Trump in charge? Who knows what would even happen.

From what I've heard, the foreign troops have always been pretty chill too. Haven't heard of any serious problems.

Fun fact: The name of the town where American and British troops mostly stay is literally the Estonian word "Kill". There's a joke that their newspaper during the occupation was called "Tapa kommunist" (kill a/the communist) and later "Tapa edasi" (keep killing) but that's untrue apparently.

So these were the july 4th marching orders from their phone call. He's a good little pet.

That's Sunday's phonecall between Putin and Trump

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I wonder what trump got for that little transaction.

Welp, time to move
