I asked the teacher why the Sodom and Gomorrha story meant gay people were bad and not "raping angels is bad". I also asked him why he hated Jews. Aaanyhoo, banned from confession for life. I'm going to hell, ladies and gentlespoons.
The teacher had a favorite, who sat behind me. Anytime she tried to talk to me I got in trouble. I literally got detention once where I had to write out the same run on sentence over and over again 75 times about how sorry I was for being disruptive in class, all because this girl leaned forward and tapped me on the shoulder while the teacher was looking at me. I never spoke a word to her, I didn't even look back at her. Teacher didn't care, it was somehow my fault. I remember my hand cramping up writing the sentence and after the first however many minutes my writing started deteriorating so the teacher made me redo sentences. It was a very painful and miserable experience, I could barely hold the pencil by the end. Thinking about it now, that teacher was a sadist and had a very creepy fixation on that girl.
I'd forgotten all about hand pain from forced copy-writing, being a lefty that was a common part of my disliking school
I wore overalls that were too tight.
I'm a guy.
Stupid, sexy ~~Flanders~~ overalls!
it wasn't the butt they were worried about
Probably the weirdest thing for me was a lunch supervisor who decided I had to eat liver when that was part of lunch in the small rural primary school I went to.
It always had the texture of a rubber ball and the flavour of stale vomit. So I would be made to sit and look at it on my plate instead of going out and playing with the other kids, for about 30 minutes, once a week.
I wasn't a picky eater (we didn't have much money, so that was my main meal of the day, I was always hungry), that was literally the only thing I didn't want to eat. Other kids weren't made to eat all of their lunches.
I remember her being really angry about it and standing over me the whole time.
Force feeding kids is so fucked up.
As a kid I hated pizza for some reason, my parents wouldn't let me leave the table till I finished my pizza.
Sometimes adults forget that taste and texture are often perceived differently during childhood. Some things that I eat as an adult, my kid self would be completely grossed out by. And vice versa.
I HATED milk when I was a kid. I just found the taste and texture to be weird. As an adult, I don't drink much of it but I don't hate it anymore.
I hated milk too, and MUCH later on in life i learned I'm lactose intolerant. Neither parent noticed because they also didn't drink milk.
Thing is, if you're permitted to never to eat anything you don't like, you'll still be eating like a toddler at the age of 34. Your tastebuds will never develop if you only eat chicken nuggets.
Although milk does have an odd texture and taste and plenty of people dislike it all their lives, so that's fair. I actually went off it when I grew up.
Yeah, some kids need persuasion in order to eat a more varied diet, so that's probably where the thinking comes from, but like anything if taken to extremes it becomes abusive.
Now I'm middle aged and have developed a bunch of food allergies, so I've been forced into picky eating :-(
Someone -- I don't know who -- claimed I had broken into a classroom. I had not. They could not prove I had. There was no clear motive. Just an allegation. I felt like the principal had an axe to grind with me throughout high school and in hindsight my attitude and responses like, "I don't want to be here at all. Why would I break into a classroom that I have zero interest in being in?" probably did not help.
Ended with me getting a three day suspension. My parents seemed to think the whole ordeal was really stupid. If they doubted I was telling the truth, they didn't say it and I didn't get into any more trouble at home.
I was 8 years old, my teacher gave us a task to write 20 sentences. Each sentence must contain the word "I" and "My"
I was done long before the other kids and started doing other things, my 20 sentences were:
I walk my dog.
I walk my cat.
I walk my hamster.
I pet my dog.
I pet my cat.
I pet my hamster.
Etc....
When she saw what I did she lost her shit, scolded me and took me to our grade's head teacher to scold me in front of her.
(High school, approx 1 year ago) Not particularly trouble, just a bit of scolding from school IT admin.
The school network blocked certain sites and services. I also wanted to convert a few videos to AV1, but I had a shit laptop, and the school PCs were pretty fine.
So, in steps:
- One of the teachers with admin rights created accounts for us on the most powerful PCs with RDP access to use them from other, shitty PCs.
- I wanted to extend this access, and in the end went with AnyDesk since that didn't need admin rights, but could still do port forwarding. This was important as AnyDesk could run in background, but wouldn't show anything without being logged in. But I could port forward to the computer's RDP and connect to that.
- There was VirtualBox. Cool. I installed Arch for the video conversions, and Ubuntu server for playing around.
- I've experimented with remote access via ssh-j.com (SSH jump server), but didn't particularly like that. I wish I had known about Tailscale at the time. I only used AnyDesk for port-forwarding to the VM SSH.
- I've installed tinyproxy (simple HTTP proxy server) and OpenVPN (later switched to Wireguard) onto the Ubuntu server VM. I've set it up as a proxy server that would connect to a VPN (ProtonVPN, later Mullvad) and share that connection over the HTTP proxy on LAN.
- I've distributed the proxy server details and instructions on how to set up a computer to use it to other students. They confirmed it bypassed blocking, and even online games worked fine over it.
- The school IT admin came into the class with that computer (when I was there which was a coincidence), and asked who was using Wireguard. Then he told me he'd block it by the end of the day, and to finish whatever I was doing.
- Specifically Wireguard didn't work on any ports, so I assume it was DPI based blocking. However, there was an exception, port 123 used for NTP. Proxy back in service over 123.
- Later on he was quite clear that I am not allowed to use the school computers for personal stuff like video processing, that I very much shouldn't be helping others evade the blocking because it exists for a reason, and then got a bit mad when I also mentioned the remote access, because yeah, a bit of security hole.
I personally wouldn't trust AnyDesk for access to my network, but that was all I had. I use Tailscale now.
Welp, next year they upgraded the setup, and now computers don't have local accounts anymore and use some login via e-mail. But I also just finished HS, so not my problem anymore.
Found this picture of you:
3rd grade. Teacher sent me and my best friend to the office with a note for being too disruptive (we were snickering a lot). I was used to getting into trouble, but he was petrified and shaking. I felt bad for him, so I told him I would take care of it.
I tossed the note over the wall, then we went off and played in the yard for the rest of the morning.
In the afternoon, there was school assembly. The two of us were called out by name and were told our parents would be called to come collect us. My mother showed up and couldn't stop laughing at the silliness of it all.
My friend, he never talked to me again.
Not school, kindergarden. I drew a rocket, in space, with flames shooting out from the engine. The teacher declared fire = violent, I had to stop drawing. I think she also talked to my parents, but I don't remember more than that.
Wearing blue camo shorts in 4th grade because it promotes violence by looking like the military
Omg you just reminded me of something. In my elementary school, they banned slap bracelets. Not because they could cut you or any "normal" reason like all the other schools, but because they were "gang paraphernalia". Yep. If you wore a slap bracelet in my elementary school, you would get detention cus only gang members wore slap bracelets.
If you think about it, that was kind of a civics lesson. The Authority will brand anything they don't like as criminal activity.
I was in high school when the Simpsons was still pretty new, and there was some popular Bart t-shirt at the time that got the word "hell" banned on any clothing.
All while the school mascot is the Blue Devil.
Our list of gang affiliated clothing was so long the teachers couldn't remember what to enforce. They didn't dress code anyone because they'd have to start following the rules for everyone.
It included: bandanas, slouchy toques, white tank tops, black hoodies, red or blue hats, and red or blue shirts.
Fun fact: The school sports teams wore black hoodies with gold logos.
Grade one detention. Yelling at another kid for reading over my shoulder during quiet time after I quietly, repeatedly asked him to stop.
I'm in my 30's now and you can still get FUCKED Mrs. Williams. You can eat a dick too, Patrick. Get your own fucking book.
There were two brothers in my high school, our last names were similar. And we were always getting in trouble for the other's actions. When we would hear one of us get called to the office we would meet after class to see if it was a legit getting in trouble or something one of the other two did. We would always trade punishments too.
So literally I got into trouble for having a last name sharing 5/7 letters with someone else's last name.
It may not be the strangest, but it shows how some teachers just don't like you personnally for no reason. I don't know the English grade system so I was around 14-15yrs old I'd say. Drawing teacher gave me 2 hours of detention which I didn't know (I learned it because I stood in school as my parents couldn't take me early). So I learned that, I had an exercise to draw again the same exercise because my previous drawing was "bad" and he thought I didn't spend enough time on it. Surprise, the girl who has had the greatest grades in art, and happened to be my friend, suggested to draw it for me. So I said yes and she drew for me, I didn't do anything.
I gave that back to the teacher, he did not even gave me 10/20 (that's how grade works here). So I had a bad grade, I don't remember exactly but he said I had not worked enough as habits.
Bastard.
Not really a strange reason, but I have adhd, and I had a horrible teacher in 4th grade that sent me to the principal for being distracted in class. She was well aware I was in Special Ed and she didn't care. I was terrified, I never went to the principle, I was a good kid.
In junior school I lost my pencil (because this was so long ago I'm not sure how that happened). Teacher told me to look for it rather than just giving me a replacement. I looked everywhere, under everything, and I didn't stop looking for it because, well, what else was I supposed to do?
Anyway I got told off for that even though that's what I'd been told to do.
I definitely got a ruler to the bottom in that class (in front of everyone) although I'm not 100% sure it was for that incident.
Nothing serious but our history teacher once accused me of being on my phone during class when I was reading something about venice in the textbook and not paying attention. She then did not believe me and I had to go up to her desk and sut in her chair so I could see how she supposedly could see me using my phone from there.
Usually when I got in trouble it was justified lol. I wasn't the best with self control in elementary + middle school. A few detentions, in school suspensions, and one out of school. Never got into trouble once I got to high school age. Or...caught, really.
The teacher was teaching sex education and mentioned that sex only ever hurt for her, so we shouldn't look forward to it. This is an L for a teacher IMO, TMI. But...
I took issue with this and blurted out accusing her of...well, basically never having being aroused by her husband and him going in dry. In front of 30 other immature teens.
I got sent to the principal, but he wasn't in, so I got the VP who was an air head and forgot why I was there after 5 minutes talking with her quite happily. We got off topic and then I left without any punishment being dolled out when she got bored of the conversation. I think she had some school policy she was figuring out, but I no longer remember well enough to elaborate on that. I just remember being thoroughly confused about the encounter after and raved to my friends lol.
After that Mrs. Bugatti kept trying to get me to transfer to the gifted kids class instead, but I didn't like the students in there personally and I had already rejected ladder climb mentality by then. Just sus she only tried after this happened is why I even bring it up.
How is someone like that teaching sex ed...
She needs some lessons herself
I'm not completely sure she wasn't lying to dissuade us from having sex. Not that this alternative view helps at all...
She was rather opinionated. I remember she had a bugbear about shirts with corporate logos on them. Free advertising/walking billboard. Which I agree with actually, but it's just a personal principal/style choice I hold to. I wouldn't ridicule other people for wearing a coca cola or whatever T-shirt like she did.
4th grade social studies. The assignment was to transcribe the definition of the unit's vocabulary words from the textbook's glossary.
I forgot the text book at school.
Dad called another parent for the vocabulary words, gave me a giant, unabridged dictionary and told me to start writing.
Received a zero, and a lunch detention.
Fuck you, Bitting.
A friend (sitting 3 benches away) glued a coin to his bench
I'm the 4th grade I took some Crayola markers and connected them end to end. I was up to 3 when I was sent to stand outside in the hall.
I drew a caricature of Osama Bin Laden on a handout for our presentation that was given to other students. I don't know why I did that but I thought it would be funny. My teacher was not happy at all and I got into some serious trouble.
Managed to not do my homework for a few months. Whatever check sheet the teacher used must have had my name in such a way she didn't notice the empty row, until the day she did. 'and the week before that, and the week before that' getting progressively louder.
Someone got me into a first fight but I somehow was also in the wrong
My teacher was a bully.
I received detention exactly once in my life, in my final year at the last school week before my exams.
For entirely unjust reasons and to perform a task of finding certain information online i had previously tried in group and we concluded the information did not exist online. So i just fumbled my thumbs till i could go home.
She bullied other people of my class too. She also blamed us for being suicidal because idk the only reason she gave was her previous class had higher grades than us. I was actually suicidal at the time.
Freshman year. Me and a guy from another class got pulled in by the guidance counselor. He told us some girls from a higher year told him we brought porno mags to school. We were literally just a few months into high school and I barely knew the other guy. Maybe that was their idea of a prank? Anyway, nothing came out of it fortunately.
Robbing a bunch of sweets from the principals office. I was a very young kid
I was not cool. That was a crime that was punished severely.
