Got a Firewire port on my PS2. The only thing I've ever owned with Firewire and I never even used it.

No kidding! I postponed replacing my old Sandybridge in 2020 because of pandemic prices and then jumped on building my new rig in early 2024 when prices were the lowest I'd seen in some time. Also, grabbing a couple more sticks of 32 Gb DDR4 for my homelab this spring now seems like it was a good choice.
We have third generation cartel that are American citizens operating in the country. It will be interesting to see what happens if the U.S. government decides to go after their operations in Mexico with military force and what the response stateside will be.

I believe it was only utilized by Gran Turismo 3 for connecting two systems to play against each other. Nobody else developed for it.
