That's the point of ALL wars these days. The outcome never really works out, the people are never going to be pleased with the American invaders, even if they did take out the dictator. The likelihood is that they killed a whole lot of people doing that.

The big winner in any war is the military industrial complex, and they are always the ones shouting for more war.

They've been sitting around since the end of Afghanistan, restocking the shelves, but that's finished, and everybody is itching to get back to production, so it's time for a new war.

Invading elementary schools doesn't count.

Yeah, we're crazy like that. Just like how we arrest the leader of one country for being a drug dealer, only 2 months after pardoning the convicted drug dealer ex-leader of another country, serving decades in prison.

Please do it, and put out international warrants for his henchmen, especially PeeWee Himmler. They'll never be able to leave America again. They can spend all their vacations at Dollywood.

Panama Canal

Hong Kong

Germany

All the Soviet Iron Curtain countries

Afghanistan

Lots of nuances, nothing is a black & white perfect analogy

You just described me. I've known he was an insufferable putz since the 80s. By the 90s, I was seeing articles in the NY Times about money laundering for the Russian Mob. I was shocked they'd give him a reality show, but that's bar is extremely low.

Looking back from the perspective of a Millennial or younger, I realize that the first time they really saw him was when Mark Burnett decided to polish his image on The Apprentice, and make him campaign ready. They only saw a carefully crafted hologram of him, and his re-brand worked.

I've had people tell me that I'm stupid for not knowing that Trump has always been the "King of NYC," and they still LOVE him there. I laugh whenever I hear that, because I'm a New Yorker-in-law, and I've been visiting and living in NYC for decades, and I know first hand that NYers despise him intensely. I've never heard a real New Yorker say anything good about him. New Yorkers have ALWAYS had a special, deeply-rooted hatred for him.

PeeWee Himmler

It always amazes me when someone thinks they will invade a country, and deal with the old guy, install their own guy, and the people will all just be okay with it? They may have hated the old guy, but their going to hate the new guy just as much. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Unless the invading force is willing to get genocidal, which Stephen "PeeWee Himmler" Miller definitely is.

So dumb. Who's in charge when the dust clears? There's your winner.

Hint: It wasn't America. It's never America. We haven't won an armed conflict since WWII. Guerilla Warfare is highly effective against a massive force that can't get out of its own way.

After 20 years, and trillions of dollars, we left Afghanistan, and the Taliban was back in power within hours. What a waste.

Osama Bin laden won 9/11.

And Afghanistan. And Iraq.
