I’m convinced these shitty shitty stalls are the reason so many Americans fear the idea of trans people, or people who do not appear to be cis, using the bathroom.

I totally get this since I’ve definitely done it before. For anyone who might like to know a strategy that has worked for a fellow tommorrow-me assassin, if you want to do something tomorrow then actually figure out the time of day you’re going to do it, given how long it will take you to do it. The earlier in the day the better. Then keep that time in mind when you’re going to sleep so that you wake up with that plan in mind.

This might not work for everyone obviously but it has proven pretty reliable for me

I’d argue modern letters to the Christians are everywhere, but it doesn’t matter. Even if Paul were currently alive and nearing 2000 years old people would find a reason to ignore him because what they believe in is definitively not Christianity.

Do Southerners use Yankee pejoratively to refer to northerners?

Being from the USA, I can confidently say “Yankee” is a term that is fairly neutral in meaning. People from the South states use it to refer to basically any American not from the South, and I get the sense people from the UK use it to refer to anyone from the USA.

In my experience, “Gringo” seems to be a term used by Spanish-speakers (even ones from North and South America) to refer to English speakers who think they’re better than everyone, so it appears to be a term with negative connotations

Pompey and his allies induced the Senate to demand Caesar give up his provinces and armies in the opening days of 49 BC. Caesar refused and instead marched on Rome.

Addendum:

The civil war ultimately led to Caesar's becoming dictator for life (dictator perpetuo). Caesar had been appointed to a governorshipover a region that ranged from southern Gaulto Illyricum. As his term of governorship ended, the Senate ordered him to disband his army and return to Rome. As it was illegal to bring armies into the northern border of which was marked by the river Rubicon, his crossing the river under arms amounted to insurrectiontreason, and a declaration of war on the state. According to some authors, he uttered the phrase iacta alea est ("the die is cast") before crossing.
