When your family are all there it makes a tough decision. Plus house prices and poverty put you at a disadvantage moving to somewhere more prosperous.

I have no qualms paying for products. I try make the right choices but bit by bit it becomes impossible as the tech around us becomes more authoritative, more greedy, more invasive, more enshitified, less fair.

Streaming is a great example. Nearly all of them don’t treat staff well, they use profits to lobby or abuse their positions. I am happy to pay for content. I am not happy to pay to perpetuate bad behavior. Hence I’d like have an offline collection…but if I simply can’t buy it…then it becomes a service problem.

Smarttube...is a hero!

I have stemio installed on a few devices. Mostly tv boxes and i have installed it on firesticks for my fam members. You can install it on your laptop etc.

1. YFrom your preferred device download the stremio app (on firestick/tv boxes you need to get the downloader app first...there are plenty of guides).

2. Once you have the app installed set up a stremio account via here https://www.stremio.com/

3. Sign into your app using those login details.

4. You will see something like this. As you scroll down you will see lists of libraries such as 'public domain' content or 'popular' these can be altered in the addons (left menu)

5. Configure or add the addons. I delete a lot of the general stuff like YT and choose which libraries i wanna see in there for example i have common libraries using the stremio-netflix-catalog-addon you may have to use a serch engine to find that or it may be a community addon. Green cog is to configure.

It will take you out of stremio to a browser site for you to configure (pick what lists you want) If you like to use vpn etc you can add them here too. Make sure to choose the install addon to activate it in your stremio app.

6. When you go back to stremio you will see your chosen libraries to browse media. when coosing a movie or sow for example you it will give you some sources. Where the media files come from is down to you based on where you source....there are more addons for this too. The sources you pick that's your business but its always good to consider a VPN and tor service which work with most addons. Stemio allows you to source your files from your netflix account too.

Agree a combo of stremio and jellyfin for me, just for a backup. I pay for VPN and a debrid service. I generally browse and watch disposable content on stremio, but also like jellyfin picking up my regular tv shows and my repeat/keeping content.

I know this town well it and many around it have lost their main industries and developed mini slums. Whilst there is money for training it’s aimed at low level manual style work. Even if you do manage an education jobs are scare and London/Manchester centric.

This place actually has a really nice beach and is located on a port. It has access to Northumberland and some nice spots in Durham, so it had potential.

The problem is lack of work and immigrants who are also out of work and have different ways of life are often placed there in high concentration. This then causes resentment. No job, no future and immigration seems threatening. This might not be what people want to hear but it’s the truth. Pride, is short and when it’s there it’s hijacked by chancers.

It was always gonna be this outcome. Pouring money to make it look good on the surface does not tackle the fundamentals. People want to work and have real pride in their local communities. Labour has actually perpetuated this cycle of dependency for a long time. And the tories don’t care of anything north.

No it’s sycophancy. He knows what he is saying, it’s an agenda he is pushing. One that benefits the rich. He is either that or thinks he will be looked after by them.

The problem is there will be tiers of rules. Rich people rules. Other people rules on behaviour….already is.

I would argue in some ways piracy is a progressive form of demonstration against a systematic problem, and in this case the bigger studies that milk users and take advantage of those doing the work.

So telling people not to advocate with their form of protest is a bit unfair, it takes all tactics to get change. Its a bit like telling someone not to go out and march because you don't like that approach. People should get paid, but fairly. and consumers shouldn't be fleeced....So my sympathy for the studios involved is little theres been plenty of time to talk...they didnt listen, infact they stuck two fingers up.
