I'm just saying that usually if you expect an agreement the bare minimum is including the other party in negotiations

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml -2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

you could be calling your representative and writing letters and doing whatever else you can to people who might care about those actions.

my representatives are Democrats, they didn't care

you endorsed 2 genocides

by lying about Bidens nonfunctioning brain Democrats created this situation. my vote had zero impact

I'd do it again, rather get expropriated and deported from this micky mouse country than use what little political input I have to endorse a genocide

a ceasefire agreement without including the Russians, why would they agree?

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Ukraine and US agree to 30 day ceasefire, doesn't look like the Russians were included in that negotiation.

I'm not going to hold my breath

I can take that criticism, I can be quick to throw out a hot take. Though I'm not sure that obfuscation of political leanings of moderators is necessarily a good thing.

If anything it seems like it would be better for transparency to know who's potentially censoring speech and what their opinions are, especially when something as simple as like "being trans" gets considered "political" by people.

Hexbear is pretty overwhelmingly queer/trans and anarchist/communist.

If you've never run into a transfem communist IRL it's probably because you're not in many queer or left wing organizing spaces.

I'm actually pretty new to Lemmy in the last year and in that time I've seen way more .world posters being toxic about .ml/hexbear and making vague posts about how bad they are. I have to imagine that's why you're now seeing backlash to .world. Also most of the time I see people complaining about these instances and I dig into the modlog it's overwhelmingly because they got banned at some point for being reactionary and are bent out of shape about it.

NATO was virtually entirely a mutual defense pact vs Russia in their previous incarnation as the USSR.

This "defense pact" has invaded, bombed and destroyed many countries within only my lifetime, it's a laughable statement unless your historical horizon is less than a decade.

Living in America it's incredible to me how people I run into don't even know the countries that their own government has invaded using its "defense pact", or pay attention to people whose lives they've ruined, and thus can't even understand why people see them as a threat.
