it sucks, the times when Lemmy reminds me of reddit.

These comments might be controversial but not uncivil. No violation of rule 1. This definitely belongs here.
You know they are losing the argument when they resort to name calling.
So much work it must be fun. One day I will be one of those people who has two phones in service at a time for myself but for now let's hope they don't take away sideloading.
Note: never messed with Linux but one day I might, let's see where life takes me.
I don't think I'd ever quit Android unless they pull a move like, idk, banning sideloading completely.
Be careful what you wish for or say, it might actually happen sooner than not. We are getting closer and closer to an Orwellian society and that technology is already hopping on the bandwagon. If control of the market is what they want but cannot have it they will still use every tactic to improve that agenda. It's hard to notice but it is gradually happening.
(No I don't watch too much Black Mirror, it's not an addiction, it's just inevitable)
No, it means you are responsible enough to look back and realize what you want to change in life. A bad person wouldn't understand that they did anything wrong. Also, we've all did mischievous things when we were young .
Okay the question should be why do countries have to do this and why is it so hard not to?
I know, I think I forgot to mention I understand that other countries do this, sorry for specifying America as I cannot speak for other countries as I am not from them nor have I been to them. This was about cultural awareness, and the fact that by learning difficult things at a younger age, 'USA' would be better. They are already teaching things younger and younger as we advance as a society, why not add this? I hear young kids learning more and more difficult things. But making it easier or harder is less the question, but rather advancing and making people smarter and more cultured.
This is the correct answer. But I agree with the part it is unfortunate that they didn't respect and America doesn't respect enough to say España or 'la France' hopefully I am spelling that right.
Yes that is why I mentioned it is a radiation testing service. But the article cites some 'credible-looking' sources, it is just to show anyone can support a claim by searching enough through Google and finding something that seems credible to spread misinformation. I am thinking OP may have heard something on the media claiming this citing something similar, that is why I was determined to find something that tried to link the two. Most of the results said it was completely safe.
While I agree with the fact that no it has barely an effect and the FDA says the EMF from devices are well below levels to cause any concern, I found this article and skimmed through it found that:
"Why is colon cancer on the rise? Researchers are still trying to get the answers they need, but several theories have evolved. Some research suggests the increased CRC cases may be caused by exposure to environmental pollutants (9) like nickel, arsenic, benzene, and cadmium. They believe the exposure may be due to EMF (Electromagnetic frequencies) emitted by phones, laptops, and other electronic devices. Previous studies revealed EMF can lead to failing health."
However, I had to go through many pages of Google for this answer while others said otherwise. Also, it may be biased as this is a service for radiation related testing etc. there are some citations in the article that seem credible but they are just stating possible theories and testing. No peer reviewed paper found with anything linking the two.
Tl;Dr: it's okay to use a laptop on your stomach, many of us do. EMF levels too low to do anything. Studies are still early in their development and there is no concern ATM.
I second that
