My wife has medical issues and we worry about this type of thing but it has not been an issue in the us. We did not change our names at marriage so they are different. Its actually kinda disturbing that it works fine by and large.

the inconsistancy may be the worst part since we have a party who does not like things working. Its like flowers for algernon if you are in the us.

The whole point of webapps was not to have os specific ones. somehow smartphones caused everything to move backwards.

If you do you should be actively running them. One thing that annoys me with the fediverse is I feel a bunch of communities get created and abandoned. Its like folks are doing the if you build it, they will come and no. No. They will not come. It just pollutes the topic. Similarly if communities around the subject already exists see if that does well enough for you or see if you can become a mod and help it grow. For the same reasons. To much of the same thing. Don't get me wrong I like there being a few different communities just for redundancy purposes being instances can blow up or become abandoned. Honestly people real serious about thier community should really think about having a backup ready for it on another instance. Anyway I block things I don't care for like sports or memes. OMG. sometimes it feels like people make new meme community just so they can have a personal community to post their memes. At times they pop up like crazy and there are a ton already and I get there are different meme subject type things but you will see the exact same subjects. Ok. yeah soapboxing a bit there. Anyway do it if your serious about something and will put the time in.

Im the same as you. Yeah there is all sorts of nasty stuff but it always seems like there is more to loose than what it gains. Besides loss of rights there is the whole things going underground which just makes them harder to track or know how much of a problem it is. I want laws to be more about actions than art, writing, speech, and thought. I mean do all sorts of crazy searches regularly for weapons or poison or some other nerd thing that goes through my mind at some point. Does not mean im going to go kill someone. Now if I get picked up as a suspect I totally get it being something to point out in court if it showed I searched for something specific to the crime Im accused of recently or such. Not that I think peoples info should be available willy nilly but the subpoena system is understandable.

With enough training data from me and chatbots will spell like shit. Bad grammar as well.

remember clinton wanting to be known as the education president. So many options for this guy. The litigious president, the graft president, the unqualified president, it just goes on and on.

I too moved over during the api hulabaloo but I only used the website. I just was pretty sick of it and when I looked at the federation I was like. this is fine. Many folks want more numbers but I can take it or leave it as I like the sorta in crowd we got going.

I like to think typos like that confirm my humanity :)

This does not seem surprising to me:

"Overall, the developers in the study accepted less than 44 percent of the code generated by AI without modification. A majority of the developers reported needing to make changes to the code generated by their AI companion, and a total of 9 percent of the total task time in the "AI-assisted" portion of the study was taken up by this kind of review."

It sounds about right. The AI should be acting as an assistant. The big question to me is if the code that comes out 19% slower is at all of higher quality. Since the coder is doing more correction and review does it act a bit like a second set of eyes or a pho sort of collaboration. If so it could still be helpful. Granted my experience so far is that most of what it does can be done with plugins to an ide but like it is sorta handy to have it all set and going after an installation without having to find and start using the plugins. Im still worried about energy usage with these things but hoping that can be worked out and honestly im not sure if the energy usage for something integrated with an ide or such is as bad.

I mean there is he dialectic. I have had arguments were as the person restates their meaning it sorta seems like we are saying the same thing but there is some nuance on language that we seem to be hung up on. Like it seems the idea is the same but we just can't rely on the appropriate language to express it. Its hard to describe because it only happens once in awhile and I will sometimes be like. You know we are sorta saying the same thing but oftentimes the person just gets more annoyed and will sorta double down on the language and usually I just give up at that point.
