Do Go On

I am not familiar with them, but I just looked them up and they seem cool, so will see what they've got.

the number of folks who will run bespoke solutions will be so small that it’ll be insignificant

For the vast majority of people, you are right. But for the very few malignant actors, that is the thing they'll do. It will make ASIO's job harder as they're now trying to trace foreign VPN's, custom-made encryption programs and other stuff that I personally don't know about (I'm not overly knowledgeable about such computer things).

The >99% of Signal users forced into the sunlight aren't the threat. It's the <1% of Signal users who 'go underground' that are the threat.

I live with type I (I'm Australian) so it's just a normal socket for me. Though looking at it more critically it reminds me of a female toilet/bathroom sign. Not that it's an exact replica, but it just gives the impression.

K is the happiest. I like that one. B is shocked (pun!) at what's going on. H is encouraging me to see things in a racist light.

Maybe introduce it as optional until you are 18? And then it goes compulsory.

This is the answer. It will give a (small) voice to the next generation who has to suffer under the piss-poor legislation that our government creates, so they can at least fight back. They're the ones who are on the border for a lot of things (or even partaking of some 'over-18' activities, like tax) and they should get a say in it.

Imagine if every 16-17 year old voted down the clowns in parliament so they (for example) have at least some chance of buying a house one day? The older generation (boomers) has already lost the majority voting base, and the Lib/Lab duopoly is feeling the hurt because of it.

I find it odd that there are a loud and large number of people who decry communism and socialism as failed theories – pointing to the ruins of various countries that have unsuccessfully implemented them – while pointedly ignoring the fact that capitalism is falling into the same problems: the ruling class (ie, ultra-rich) takes all, and the working class suffers from a rapidly widening wealth gap.

However, when you know that the media is owned by only a handful of billionaires to benefit from the system as it is, it starts making a lot more sense.
