Yes, and the hard part is getting the establishment to allow them to build that trust and support instead of stifling like the classic American leftist example of Bernie

Specific to elections: provide a principled left wing candidate with a platform that people can hear

For real substantial change: by taking away power from the powerful and giving it to the people

Most people agree with most leftist ideas (at least in theory), they've just been misinformed about what those ideas are and their true practicality

This seems to reinforce the idea of centrism being a losing strategy

When I say politics I include things like struggles with inflation and laws that harm you and global warming and working conditions and much more. I think that it's good to engage thoughtfully with the people we surround ourselves with

I think many workplaces function better when workers are able to develop camaraderie by talking and joking about things that aren't strictly related to work

I think some politics is healthy to talk about in certain work situations. Definitely not the red vs blue tribal nonsense, but discussing and understanding material conditions

Did your physics professor say "velocity == speed"? Because if so, yes he was

[–] JeSuisUnHombre@lemm.ee 11 points 6 months ago (8 children)

According to this physics website you're wrong

An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity.

Velocity =/= speed

A change in direction is a change in velocity

US - 0

None at all, no sick, no holiday, no federal holiday, absolutely no PTO. If I don't go in I simply don't get paid.

Here's a new clearer statement to express my thoughts on the matter.

Contrails are visible and normal and fine. I probably don't fully understand the science behind them, but I realize what we are seeing is water vapor.

Chemtrails are also real though. They are invisible to the naked eye and are directly contributing to global warming as well as some health concerns that are hard to quantify. They are not some conspiracy to control or disable the masses. The exhaust of cars and especially planes leave a trail of harmful chemicals behind them. The reason for this is because we care more about convenience and money than we do about the ecosystem we live in.

I personally believe pointing out that dichotomy is more useful than laughing at people who are misinformed.

Just because the contrails are science

I understand that part, doesn't stop them from containing the plane exhaust which is directly contributing to global warming
