What kind of idiot takes a toddler to a movie? They're not wired for that yet...

Cheap... 16 minimum... 32 if it's DDR4.

Small Datacenter..

Hardware: 3x Dell R630's, 256G (in 2) 512G (in 1) (Proxmox, Vmware ESX, NutanixCE) 1x Dell R730XD, 240TB, 256G-Ram (Truenas) 1x Dell R730XD, 50TB, 128GB Ram (Proxmox Backup Server)

In truenas containers I'm running my entire *Arr stack, cloudflare, Paperless, Ollama, Immich, etc.

In Proxmox I'm running a few Linux VM's (mail gateway, Desktop VM's for work, etc). VMWare and Nutanix are disposable hypervisors I use for deployment testing for work stuff.

I stopped worrying about IT illiterates long ago... Same reason I don't want the masses flocking to Linux. They'll find a way to ruin it.

Oh it will, but what it will leave behind is the same mess of big megacorps who will retain the technology and use it for evil..

you know, like normal.

Yet one more thing pushing people to Piracy...

There is nothing more maddening than advertising during a show that wasn't written for commercial breaks.

There was talk of embedding sensors in the roads that the auto-driving cars could track... Like Bots' Dots but with RFID tags in them... I figure that would be a maintenance nightmore though...

First it's about having it available when Netflix inevitably decides they're not going to license it anymore.. But for Netflix originals, it's so my extended family can enjoy the good stuff without having to pay Netflix their stupid rates... especially now that I'm not allowed to share my netflix password with family (which used to be encouraged)

I don't download directly from Netflix, though I understand it's possible, but I find stuff on Netflix I like and then go dig up the torrent... Someone else has always pre-done the heavy lifting for me. :)

*.gov is currently blocked at my firewall...nothing they do is safe.
