At large organizations you're generally not allowed to download much of anything without it passing through IT security and management first. If it's a no, it will probably stay a no.

Good, at least someone is paying attention.
Lemmy users reading this:

It implies that that’s a quality you should be judging people on, even if their looks have no bearing on the situation.
That certainly shouldn't be how it is, but there's a lot of evidence to support that it is how it is. Just because we don't like it being that way doesn't mean it doesn't impact people's perceptions.

To quote Eddie Izzard from her special Dress to Kill:
I don't disagree that it was kind of pointless to bring up, but just saying... it's a thing.
Are they getting too high on their own products?
Yes and they literally have turned the idea of Admin Rights into the Divine Right of Kings.
"I know how to be an admin, thus I should run the fucking world."
When Cisco helped roll out The Great Firewall of China, they made great pains to explain that all they were actually doing was setting up the hardware and software to do what they were already designed to do. Computers and computer networks were never designed to be democratic in nature at all. Now that computers run the world, these jabronis think they deserve to be the Kings of it all.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that Zelenskyy probably isn't stupid enough to not be aware of that already.
What about for people who struggle to have emotional intimacy and sexual intimacy throughout their lives because of medical issues or mental health issues?
My ex has a brother who is now pushing 40 and has never even held a woman's hand. He has severe mental disabilities and will never live life on his own without some kind of caretaker. We know he looked at porn, partially because he refused to ever let people fix up his computer, usually out of fear of people seeing his porn.
Does he not deserve emotional and sexual intimacy? There is a high likelihood he will never have it otherwise.
until they start using it to fill a hole
What about, like in the situation I just described, when that hole will otherwise go a lifetime of being unfulfilled? Is that fair to them for being born a way they didn't choose?
I guess a vibrator isn't a type of sex robot?
Just saying that these sort of toys were way more normalized for women long before they were for men.
A man with a fleshlight was a gross weirdo, a woman with a vibrator is a strong independent woman taking control of her sexuality and not settling for the weakness of flesh in men.
This person has never seen the power bill for running a high-availability server with several failovers once in their lives.
How about this:
At the apartments I recently moved out of, there were no quarter slots on the washing machines. They were an app that required a bluetooth connection to pay.
So if you lived there and didn't have a smartphone? Go fuck yourself, you don't get to do laundry.
Unless you bothered to check the laundry room when you were looking at the apartment, you wouldn't know. No warnings.
I don't know about girls but in high school my group of nerds fell in with a "popular guy" who turned out to not have any close friends because he was so popular people always assumed he was busy and didn't call him.
So he fell in with some nerd freaks who did call him. Fun times.
...until your family complains that their favorite site has stopped working.
Pi-Hole these days allows you to create Groups so you can set certain devices to fewer or less restrictive blocklists or just leave their connection untouched entirely. Groups is basically how you solve the problem of it breaking something for someone else.
