You have no idea whether they got severance or not. Most tech companies do give it out for layoffs.
Also the WARN act already mandates that companies with 100+ people have to give 60 days notice for layoffs.

MANY companies aren’t profitable for several years. The one I work at wasn’t for 2 decades. It’s a long game.
Because we have or had a relatively free market that attracts talent and isn’t overly burdensome to operate a business in.

I never said owning a home makes you rich but most people don’t go into owning a home without building in maintenance costs. If you can’t afford $40 a month, what happens when an appliance breaks, or there is an HVAC or plumbing issue?
