I thought with the explosion of electric power and windmills and the electric vehicle boom, fossil fuels would not be required..

Yet, a lot of countries still generate coal and other fossil fuels, is it because there is still filthy amounts of profit there to be made? Maybe they are just so used to it they don't wanna swap to another resource?

I thought with Solar panels being massively produced, it would sell like hot cakes and you're literally having the power of the sun in your hand.

The worst corp I can think of is Nestlé, these pieces of shit have done a lot of environmental damage and have been known to engage or complicit in slavery.

Erasing Nestlé is like erasing the infectious boil on a human body.

What foul company would you erase for good and why?

Just thought about this question, see I haggled with a stall owner I see every time at a local comic con I go every year, lovely chap and we always have a little cheeky back and forth about certain figures or collectibles.

What about you? Did you ever haggle once for a particular thing you liked? Or are you the straight person who buys it up front?

I'd like to know!

So since the last 2 days, I've been building the courage up to start doing exercises. I'm starting with weights that were just collecting dust so thought "hell why not, never too late to start getting fit"

Now I'm being realistic knowing that starting off you're not gonna be shredded like a wrestler but I'm just tryna get leaner and fitter body wise.

Is it reasonable for absolute novices to never go to the gym for their exercise and fitness journey? I feel like would be saving some dosh even though I could be missing on some equipment they use there.

A penny for your thoughts?

I'd like to move off from the shackles of the Google menace and transferring my Gmail related accounts over including steam but I'd like some solid advice of any well regarded and better alternatives (including open source if that is possible)

I did search but was unsure of what was best as I did hear some shoddy things about Proton.

Do you know anything that could be the "aegis 2fa" of email providers?

Thank you and have a good day/night.

This is gonna sound like a troll post but i assure you it is not.

I don't have a coding background but I've used Teams in a lot of workplaces and really only encountered like 2 issues entirely.

Either I got seriously lucky or it was before enshittification.

Why do you yourself dislike it? Is it UI? Performance?

I should also say I use Teams for basic purposes like messaging and uploading files, I literally don't touch anything else and performance hadn't been an issue. (Likely because I've been given thicc-ass workstations in the past)

So I've heard and seen the newest launch, and I thought for a private firm it seemed cool they were able to do it on their own, but I'm scratching my head that people are gushing about this as some hail mary.

I get the engineering required is staggering when it comes to these rocket tests, but NASA and other big space agencies have already done rocket tests and exploring bits of the moon which still astounds me to this day.

Is it because it's not a multi billion government institution? When I tell colleagues about NASA doing stuff like this yeaaaars ago they're like "Yea yea but this is different it's crazy bro"

Can anyone help me understand? Any SpaceX or Tesla fans here?

So when I worked in last 2 roles, I'd joke around and have a laugh with colleagues, the workplace culture of those places I guess was more relaxed, but I got that sense of lack of camaderie or fellowmanship from others too during my time working.

Sorry to be naive, but is it because some people look out for themselves and it's kind of "Yeah you're a funny guy but uh.. when shit hits the fan I ain't there with you" kind of shtick.

Not saying these guys are assholes or anything, but I just think with the current world in any work industry it seems to be tricky to make real friendships inside and outside of work.

I don't know if this just me but I notice that big distinction of the joking around and sharing the same invested topics (I.e. video games) but no more than that

TLDR - Confused if people are being genuine, but they don't really "care" in a sense?

Please let me know if I'm spouting gobbledygook, thank you.
