There is no risk of others finding it if you don't turn on federation. It becomes a fully private instance. Just set federation to false.

It's the install size of docker and any container it brings down with it.

Really, I just don't like the idea of being forced to use something massive like docker for a single program.

Just give me a binary and let me set up hardening via systemd - or at least a source tarball or something.

Sincerely: someone who thinks software should not primarily be distributed through docker.

Really didn't like Immich because of its massive install size and being forced to use Docker - this project is exactly what I was looking for. One simple go binary with no extra hoops to get it up and running? Delicious.

Installed, will be following it for sure! Thanks for the excellent software.

The trending page is separate from subscriptions.

I mean, honestly that translation is correct - it just lands differently in English as the idioms don't really carry the same level of weight. Grok did just threaten to wipe out his family tree starting at the roots - devastating, to say the least.

I guess profanity filters only apply to English?

I'm with you. I'm curious how it'll go.

The response is less of a response, more of an explanation of their current feelings pertaining to matrix. Seems odd when Matthew made some clear, individual points that could've been addressed.

Except the premium offering pretty much just relates to media upload limit. I'm honestly surprised that they even allowed people to upload as much as they do.

Makes sense to limit free users (will also help with spam) if they're not drowning in VC money.

It doesn't affect you in the slightest, other than it might further fund Synapse's/the spec's development meaning your server might get new features.

[–] derin@lemmy.beru.co 6 points 6 months ago

Yes, this would be a great feature - but it's a big issue to implement. It's talked about in this video, worth watching if you're curious about it.

As far as status go, this issue on the matrix spec is what you want to follow.

Cool. Thanks for the contribution to the discussion!

All the Japanese ones are like this - referred to as "Washlets" in Toto's case. Iirc the bidet terminology can be problematic in the EU as bidets are technically what they use in Italy.

Good luck finding one, but Toto definitely sells them there, too! See here for more info.
