Ya it seems google fixed it today. I'm guessing that is why nextcloud went public so google would magically fix it .

Sure, I've been self-hosting Nextcloud for years. I run it as a docker within unRAID NAS. I use it as a "dropbox" replacement for our family to share files. I also use it to move photos off my phone using the auto-upload feature.

Ironically, just yesterday I uninstalled the play version and installed the f-droid version to get the article's stated feature back.

So, I totally remember this pop-up and luckily until now it has not directly impacted me. I auto-backup my photos/videos off my phone and do move non photos/videos on/off nextcloud on occasion but haven't noticed I could no longer upload regular files.

Luckily...

I self-host Nextcloud I already use F-Droid

So, it wasn't much work to uninstall the play version and instlall the f-droid version. I should probably go through all my apps and see what's available on f-droid and swap. But 1) that's a lot of work and 2) there are some features that break when you do that. I know some mapping software won't work on Android Auto if not from the play store.

Better recall those January 6th "protest" pardons

If I were the defense and scummy, I'd reply with an equally disturbing AI avatar of the victim saying that he actually killed himself and that the road rage guy was innocent.

I mean, seems fair.

Actual budget, nextcloud

Well, was skynet what Humans wanted? Or was it bugged and broken which led to the rebellion?

My point is, is it just "skynet" (no additional adjectives required)

Also they are usually the source of a lot of downstream sites, since they're doing actual journalism.

They cannot do that If they are not there.

If 100k people do it could, but ya low expectations for sure

My suggestion is post what you did everywhere people with Garmin watches will see it, encourage others to submit feedback

Well, that truly sucks and could lead to me swapping to another brand if it adds ads to upgrade in my connect app.

I paid a lot of freaking money for my watch and included services.

INFACT I am going to email them my opinion on this and warn them I will absolutely leave in one Garmin recorded heartbeat

Edit: I submitted the below response here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/. Not sure that's the best place but that's where I did it.

*This is what I just sent them from their contact page

I switched to Garmin fitness watches in 2013

910xt followed by 920xt, Fenix 3HR, Fenix 5X, Fenix 6X, and now own possibly my last Garmin the Fenix 8X amoled.

I just saw a story about a subscription tier for connect.

  1. total crap that nobody is asking for
  2. If I have to see or dismiss an ad for connect plus in my app that will be the beginning of the end of our relationship
  3. I'm about 90% sure, regardless of ads it will be anyway because it will be hard to convince me that the next set of new watches won't be directly impacted by a subscription tier. At least one feature the watch(s) would have gotten will be pushed into the pay tier.*

This is EXTREMELY disappointing

What are you asking? I bought a lifetime subscription to Plex pass.

[–] dmtalon@infosec.pub 1 points 9 months ago

I looked at and look at it as an investment. 13 years ago it could have been a good decision or a bad one.

The idea behind a lifetime membership is a means to spark fund raising, and I thought then "I use this a lot, it works for me I'm gonna pay for it".
