Everyone knows Apple said they would never do that and that one time defied the FBI about it. Are you saying Tim Cook would just ~lie~ let a false impression stand ?

Why would anyone give any air to the Digg people, they are sell out ?
They do not deserve a microsecond of attention and people who don't know them should be saved from becoming their victims.
We all left Digg and empowered Reddit, and Reddit also ducked us.
How many times do you have to get burned on that hot stove to STOP DUCKING TOUCHING IT ??

I met some real people this week, they were watching advertising.
They thought the government cared about them.
One wanted to upgrade their car to add another 100 horsepower they cannot use anywhere.
Another told me, he does not like raising cows but he had to get more cows to make it more economical to raise cows.
They were all bummed out that the end of the end of the week was upon us, and soon they would have to work 40 hours in the next 5 days, doing things they stopped liking doing a long time again, if they ever did at all.

build these tools with a clear conscience.

Because if they don't their masters they will become destitute and starve while homeless

And all social interaction happen at veiled gunpoint

Under these conditions it is no surprise at all that conscience plays no role whatsoever, it is just a savage free-for-all for survival happening under our cursed star, an insane 10 billion years long churning of thinking meat, consciousness behind birthed into the wreckage, screaming uncomprehendingly at what is happened until it soon it is just as easily, mercifully and meaninglessly snuffed out again.

Fortunately we have a shot at scorching the surface of this planet thanks to global warming and really the question is, can we make it happen before we genocide ourselves, leaving this planet's biosphere still capable of sustaining the horrors of life ?

I think the intellectual property regime is an inhuman abomination and advocating in its favour should be a criminal act.
If it is not destroyed, AI companies will use it to completely enslave us.
AI companies ARE already the government, we should strive to disempower them at every turn before it's too late.

The justification is simple, I don't see the confusion, they want absolute power and for all alternatives to wither and die ? What is there not to understand ?

Memes aren't just "image macros"

[–] interdimensionalmeme@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

When I last tried to setup openwrt+iPXE I kept ending up on their forum but I don't get what are they actually for ? Is that just a netbootable disk imaging thing ? Live OS netbooting ? Installer netbooting ?

Is it like iVentoy the non-open source netbootable version of ventoy ?

Makes sense, couple first times they use the weapon, they are clumsy, hamfisted about it and they leave obvious clues of inauthenticity. But each time they learn how to blend in and become more and more subtle until it becomes impossible to prove that is not authentic, that something isn't "happenning".

And when the nuance is so blurred anyone trying to point to it, gets diagnosticated
"paranoid delirium disorder type persecution"
And given anti-psychotic pills until they agree, it was just a delusion,
"nothing ever happens actually doctor"

So, bots automatically detect the sensitivity for emotional response in humans, then they repeat and amplify this response toward sensitive issues until it becomes a movement, a roiling positive feedback loop or anger

No, because all intellectual property should be abolished and proponents of the copyright regime should be hunted down with crossbows.

Are these options going to require installation of specialist software and then entering of special configuration parameters on the client computer as rather than just using any standard browser on any internet connected computer and typing yourjellyfindomainname.com ?

I don't want a PLAY MUTE PAUSE not even a CLOSE button. Especially NOT when they have their own internal state for then they choose to appear and disappear.

I don't want to pay attention to them, I don't want to have to look for them, I don't want them getting in my way any more.

If I want to close a tab, I middle click it ! I already have global mute controls, I don't need an extra volume control, I don't have "tabs making unwanted sounds" problem because I have "Go To Sound Tab" addon installed, so I can easily find any tabs that makes sound and mute it correctly, without a extra, unneeded layer of muting (tab muting, versus app muting versus player muting, that is too many muting options, I don't want to use tab muting personnally so I want these buttons out of here !)

I don't want to have to rely on running violentmonkey script engine on top of my already sluggish browser when I barely have 6615 open tabs.

I want to disable the feature at the root, inside firefox, not patch up webpages like dark reader does.

AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh h!!!!!!

Of course, after than, whatever you've just plugged into it, will most likely not work

502 Bad Gateway
504 Gateway Timeout
X-Forwarded-For

The solution is probably somewhere deep in the bowels of whatever you're trying to make work

It will look obvious once you've figured out, that's why it wasn't mentioned next to the bunch of instruction you pasted into your console to install the thing

Just another day walking in the forest of papercuts

And by that I mean,

An http server that serves word-like rich formatted text documents and includes a web-based rich formatting text editor to write and edit these documents.

With some searching I found these might be candidates

Ghost
WriteFreely / Write.as
Plume

And maybe the following editors in some kind of standalone mode

TipTap
Editor.js
Quill.js
CKEditor 5
Slate.js

Oops, I clicked a random tab, now I can't find my previous tab.

Surely there is a keyboard shortcut to go back where I was ?

Note : I have 2185 tabs open in 21 windows

Hi,

I really miss the old version of the website "weatherspark" It had an absolutely fantastic weather dashboard.

It was a old google-finance-like graph that you could scroll, to zoom in and out to increase the timescale, or left to right to shift the date at the center of the graph.

The lines on the graph shows, current temperature, historical temperature and prediction temperature.

There were bands around the temperature that would indicate temperature averages and records for the date period on screen.

If there were precipitations, it would show as another line the amounts.

In that simple graph you could get the sense of the local weather, what it's been and what it will be, this week, this month or 25 years ago with just your mouse.

With all the weather data being collected by government and available on public APIs, is there any open source self-hosted software that has an effective interactive data visualization user interface as weather spark of old ?

Here is what it looked like, all in a single graph with NO pageloads !
