What's wrong with a grapheneOS device on airplane mode? Is firmware level tracking a confirmed thing?
I think it depends a lot on the style and size of pants, and it's just a personal preference.
While I prefer smaller phones for how they feel in the hand, all of my pants could easily fit a phone 7" or larger. But if normal phones don't fit in your pockets, then a folding phone makes sense.
Also personally I'm the sort of person who dislikes how bulky traditional wallets are, and I'm bothered by my earbuds case. But point taken that a folding phone still isn't very thick generally.
Interesting, I always thought that was the pointless form factor. I guess I could see it being nice if you have really shallow pockets, although it seems like it would be uncomfortably thick compared to a normal phone when closed.
With the fold style, (especially trifold) It turns into a tablet you can carry in your pocket. Which would be worth it if it wasn't fragile and twice the price of a phone + tablet.
I'm younger and don't have a serious injury, so I wouldn't say this would fix back pain for someone with an actual injury.
But for me, back pain was fixed with better posture and muscle strengthening too.
I think the biggest thing was focusing on engaging the muscles supporting the lower back. Glutes and core specifically.
And for posture, just be conscious about keeping the body in alignment in a way that feels comfortable, not "sitting up straight"

Well ideally they would just make the phone more durable without a case, and the full thickness of the camera filled with battery, headphone jack, etc.
Seriously so much smartphone design is based on initial appeal, not actual usability.

Definitely, although I think it's most interesting if the advanced technology is based on the magic.
Like, let's say there is a world where there are magic plants that can heal you, people who can magically scry nearby locations if they meditate deeply, and stones that levitate in the moonlight.
And there's an evil empire that exploits the fuck out of this by industrially farming the plants to create a highly concentrated serum, removing people's brains and hooking them up to computers for magical sensing abilities, and attaching fragments of moon rocks to the levitating stones to create antigravity. Creating invulnerable flying supersoldiers with impossibly good radar powered by brain backpacks.
Cool, but it seems like it would make a lot more sense to just use a half keyboard with a thumb key to flip to the other side. Muscle memory would transfer more easily, and it would be smaller and easier to build.
Although really just learning a one hand optimized layout makes the most sense.
