The pond gets small really fucking quick. You will run into someone you know almost every time you leave the house. You can't just blend in and get away from anything. Including whatever reputation you develop.

It's honestly fucking awful.

And arguably the reason Trump is in power, but some people aren't ready to talk about that one yet.

Nah, it's good that they ripped off that bandaid. Parasocial AI relationships are terrible.

You joke but post scarcity anarchism is probably the only truly viable post capitalist society where the state actually has a real chance of withering away. That means good praxis is anything which reduces scarcity - both in the form of technological developments and sustainability/ecology. And yes, harm reduction measures which foster collaboration and social cohesion and create actualized humans with real agency and a real stake in their own communities.

The problem with so much leftist thought is precisely that it denies agency to those it seeks to liberate. "Luxury gay space communism" is a meme, but it's based on a post-left idea which is actually far more rooted in reality than a lot of ML orthodoxy.

K is honestly the only truly safe option.

Nihilism isn't really a philosophy as much as it's an absence of philosophy. The idea of that creating a kind of random deviant behavior isn't really that unusual. There's lots of different kinds of nihilism as well. You can say someone is linguistic nihilist if they twist words to mean whatever suits their other interests. You can say someone is a meta-ethical nihilist if they reject the idea of global moral truth but still adhere to a localized moral behavior. You can call someone a metaphysical nihilist if they are unconcerned with the nature of their own being but still don't want to get hit in the mouth.

It's kind of a housing trolley problem. Once the person has worn out their welcome will you have the ability to put your foot down? Because doing so will feel like you are the one putting them out on the street. Some may even call you an enabler.

I am generally in favor of giving people a chance to do the right thing, but this is one of those classic situations where it almost seems like there is no positive outcome possible. Even if they get back on their feet with your help, at what point can you say "hey sorry, but you are doing so well I'm going to make you go spend three as much on on your own housing." That's honestly the best outcome and it's still kind of a shitty situation you probably won't feel good about. Worst case scenario, the relationship devolves and the person vandalizes your property and your insurance won't cover intentional damage.

You don't get it. They will just force VPNs to black list sites. Business users will happily do it because they don't care about porn anyway. Any VPN which doesn't enforce UK laws will be blocked at the ISP level.

Endgame was absolute trash. Infinity war was almost a perfect action movie, but endgame was one of the worst letdowns ever.

My good sir, how can you be so brave and so wrong at the same time?
