In some ways, yes. American soft power and trust in the country just got fully tanked, but I see it as unrealistic that the country won’t still be a superpower trying to insert itself into everything… it just won’t have a lot of allies. But then again they control all of social media (minus Tiktok) so I’ll bet they’ll sway some assbrains around the world anyway, like with the election in Poland.

The tech and military industries in USA are too powerful that it’ll lose all of its relevance. Of course, the people will live increasingly worse lives - I just hope it’ll at least hit Republicans the worst

Ukraine was never provided the self propelled artillery to support high intensity armored maneuvers, decisive fire support and brutal defensive barrages... probably on purpose? because the Russian military does or at least used to understand artillery (idk not an expert on the topic) and would see that as a direct threat during the cold war (or at least the west convinced themselves of this).

Drones have absolutely changed warfare but the doctrine and its effectiveness in Ukraine have to be evaluated in that context.

What Ukraine did was develop a plethora of platforms and doctrines that are ideal for artillery spotting before they got the artillery.

How does the IDF know a third party navy isn't surveilling and recording what is happening if not just for the crude leverage the evidence carries?

I mean, Ukraine has gained the initiative over Russia (the bohdana being the change of tides) so Russia can absolutely launch a massive offensive but Ukraine can just react and exploit all the necessary corners cut elsewhere in the Russian war machine to make the offensive feasible for Russia and threaten a strategic defeat for Putin if the offensive (failed or successful) isn't deprioritized by Russian forces.
