I have the same issue and same software. However, Lemmy hosting webservers need to have some 'malicious activity protections' and if too much malicious activity occur from the same origin of IP where you are exiting from, you won't be able to post a comment.

I use Mullvad. All I have to do is to reconnect to a different exitpoint (can still be within the same country). And then attempt to post again. Might take a couple of tries, but it will work :)

If you don't want to reconnect, read up if you can configure your VPN to use the SOCKS5 protocol. Easier to not get blocked or "are you a bot?" Captchas and so on.

If I want to buy Subnautica 2. Does the money go to the developers, which I'm cool with, or... does it go to Krafton, which I dislike due to them being assholes towards the Subnautica developers.

Wanted to share https://nitter.net/ with you all. Great front end and I believe you can even selfhost it yourself. No account needed, just add any username after the trailing / or within the search field and boom, profit. Enjoy!

Love Mullvad. Used for years and they've been raided, twice, by cops. No data was given to the cops and they had to return the hardware. Win win in my book!

That.. Sounds AMAZING. thank you! You're the winner ;D

Any good Music Identifiers that respects users privacy?

Sometimes I hear a song, like it but have no idea what it's called

I want to upload multiple images within one post. Is that possible to do using Lemmy?

Instead of making one post for every individual picture, it's easier to have multiple pictures in one post. Hence why I ask for some guidance if there is any.

When seeding a file. Let's say a movie, and all I see are a lot of connections where others try to download that movie. However, they remain at 0% and never download anything.

Almost feels like its something watching, logging connections to everyone connected to that torrent. Just a theory.. No idea. (Privacy conscious)

Maybe someone can shed some light?

I use GrapheneOS and love my privacy. However, I am not as knowledge in regards to simcards.

My family needed to get a new simcard while abroad and I was hesitant to get a new simcard and preferred to 'hitchhike' on a family members internet thearing so he could get a simcard instead of me.

It left me with the choice to:

  • Get a Sim card
  • Get an e-sim
  • Let a family member get a simcard and hitchhike from their internet. (Internet hotspot thearing)

My question: Was my worry in vain and I could actually get an e-sim/Sim or did I do it correctly, making someone else get a Sim and share the internet to me? :P

What I'm worried of, is that I'm currently outside EU and I don't want any weird hacking attempts towards me from the government. There are a lot of protests here, quite violent ones at times too, and I am aware that governments usually use stingrays or equivalent devices to identify or stalk people of interest.

What is a good comeback or argument towards people who say "But I have nothing to hide" when you try to information them that privacy is important?
