James Talarico: "Ken Paxton just denied our public information request for the Hoffman Files. Adam Hoffman — an admitted child molester — should be in prison, but Ken Paxton let him off the hook. Texans deserve to know why. We don’t need any more pedophile protectors in our government."

The Big Bill Haywood segment is from 26:33 to 33:34

Honestly, I have... reservations about the portrayal lol

Also, Idaho doesn't exist. 🧐🧐

Her and her brother were babies from my mother-in-law's yard. Mom died of unknown causes a month after TNR. Pepper and her brother were scheduled for transport on the kitten railroad but they chewed off the fur on the tips of their tails making them ineligible.

That was about 9 years ago. Her brother died a few years ago from kidney failure. But Pepper is still here. She spends most of her time outside eating rats. But occasionally she comes in for cuddles.

She is currently on day two of panacur because she has tapeworms. If you have outdoor cats you need to deworm them once in a while. But only after figuring out what worms they have because not all meds treat all worms and using the wrong one is no treatment at all. Treatment delayed is treatment denied.

Fix yo damn pets.

cross-posted from: https://piefed.world/c/shit/p/1254540/capitalism-is-so-great-that-it-has-to-be-bailed-out-by-socialism-every-4-to-7-years

“Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor,” ordinary people are expected to absorb every risk created by rampant corporate speculation, while the wealthy get rescued from the consequences of their own decisions, free market ideology demands minimal regulation, personal responsibility, and no government interference right up until banks and corporations crash or investors start losing money, and then public money somehow magically appears through bailouts, emergency loans, subsidies, tax breaks, and government guarantees, the people whose labor actually makes the elite wealthy then end up losing their jobs, homes, healthcare, pensions, and savings and are told that’s simply how the market works, corporate losses get pushed onto the public while their profits remain private, and the same mfrs who condemn welfare for keeping poor people dependent have built an entire economic system where some of the richest institutions on Earth repeatedly depend on the government to save them.

I have a ground floor brick apartment so I'm pretty well insulated from the summer heat for most of the day. If I can get the apartment cold enough at night by running fans (ventilation), I can often make it through the day without turning on the A/C.

That small room is the best case scenario because it has the box fan blowing in directly opposite the door which has a fan at it to pull the air out of that room.

The closest I get to the coldest night temperature is 4 degrees farenheit in that room. I'm guessing the walls are retaining some heat.

Is 4 degrees a respectable delta for $20 Lasko box fans or could I do better?

I'm cross ventilating as much as I can, but I have a weirdly shaped, weirdly windowed apartment and think I need about 3 more fans to circulate the air completely, but I don't think I do better than what I have for that one room.

Pauline Hanson’s highly publicised meetings with controversial far-right figures in the UK will drive international eyeballs to her content and continue building the global brand – and that’s by design, far-right experts say...

“A big part of One Nation’s success is that the media consistently, since 1996, have provided her [Hanson] and her party with disproportionate media coverage on platforms relative to their electoral footprint.

“[Now they’re] attaining publicity, but also creating their own content so they’re able to connect with supporters and disseminate their message without the interference or mediation of journalists.”

Jordan McSwiney, an expert in far-right politics at the University of Canberra, said he would have once urged media not to cover One Nation’s stunts but with her rise in popularity, “the horse has bolted”.

McSwiney said the best approach politicians and mainstream media could take was to focus on explaining who these figures are behind the scenes.

Like, it might really be a stupid question. I found this 5 year and still open Git Issue asking for the functionality: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/787

If so, then how do you make polls on Lemmy?
