Israeli soldiers fired nearly a thousand bullets during the massacre of 15 Palestinian aid workers in southern Gaza on March 23, 2025—with at least eight shots fired at point blank range—according to a joint investigation by the independent research groups Earshot and Forensic Architecture. The report, based on eyewitness testimony and audio and visual analysis, shows that a number of aid workers were executed and that at least one was shot from as close as one meter away.

In Tel al-Sultan that day, Israel killed eight aid workers with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), six from Palestinian Civil Defense, and a UN relief agency staffer. It immediately triggered international condemnation and was described as “one of the darkest moments” of the war by PRCS.

The Israeli military was forced to change its story about the ambush several times, following the discovery of the bodies in a mass grave, along with their flattened vehicles, and the emergence of video and audio recordings taken by the aid workers. An internal military inquiry ultimately did not recommend any criminal action against the army units responsible for the incident.

I tested 9 flagships (Claude 4.6, GPT-5.2, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Kimi K2.5, etc.) in my own mini-benchmark with novel tasks, web search disabled and zero training contamination and no cheating possible.

TL;DR: Claude 4.6 is currently the best reasoning model, GPT-5.2 is overrated, and open-source is catching up fast, in particular Moonshot.ai's Kimi K2.5 seems very capable.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is opening up about his Jewish faith at a pivotal moment in his political rise.

The Democratic governor is marching toward reelection in one of the nation’s most important swing states, a victory that could propel him into the very top of his party’s presidential nomination fight. But he’s also navigating physical and political risks that have threatened his family’s life and his standing in a party that’s deeply divided by Israel’s war in Gaza.

AP: What do you say to members of your own party who call you things like “Genocide Josh” and just generally believe that your view on Israel’s war in Gaza is deeply wrong?

Josh: Antisemitism is wrong, hatred and bigotry in any form is wrong.

#Lying israelis disqualified from Olympics

In a news story that will shock nobody, the israeli bobsled team was caught faking an illness in order to change their team roster after doing miserably in preliminary rounds. They then went on social media to lie about the events and pretend they were being persecuted by the Olympic committee.

A colony comprised of thieves, liars, and cheats; they still continue to murder Lebanese and Palestinians on a daily basis despite the ceasefires. Just a few days ago they killed 18 Lebanese and wounded dozens more after bombing an apartment complexes in the Bekaa Valley. Of course, the lying death cultists claimed they were targetting "command centers."

Over 690 Palestinians in Gaza have been slaughtered by the IOF since the start of the ceasefire, 200 of whom are children. Yet the israelis continue to claim self defense.

Social media users recently found some articles about another disturbing practice of the settler colonial death cult, literally gathering up kittens and puppies to burn them alive during some sort of holiday involving bonfires.

This depraved violence against literal defense animals happens on a weekly basis. Last week israili "civilians" burned dozens of sheep in Hebron.

In final news about the depraved settlers, israeli so-called "civilians" continue to carry out terrorism in the West Bank including torching mosques. Yesterday, hundreds of armed israeli settlers broke into the town of Huwara, south of Nablus, where they carried out provocative rituals, forcing local Palestinian businesses to shut down. This is of course happening at the same time as 'israel' is severely limiting Palestinians access to Al Aqsa mosque during the holy month of Ramadan under the claims of "security concerns."

As details of the death toll for January’s protests continue to emerge, three students explain why they are resisting a return to normality

More than 45 days after a brutal January crackdown that left thousands of Iranian protesters dead, students across several universities are protesting again. As Iran’s new academic term began on Saturday, students in Tehran gathered on campus, chanting anti-government slogans, despite a heavy security presence and plainclothes officers stationed outside university gates.

The Guardian spoke to protesting students about why they were rallying despite the fact that thousands had been killed and tens of thousands arrested in the January demonstrations.

“Our classrooms are empty because the graveyards are full,” said Hossein*, 21, a student at the University of Tehran. “It’s for them – our friends, classmates and compatriots, who were gunned down in front of our eyes, that we decided to boycott the classes.”

Students staged protests at several Iranian universities on Saturday, marking the start of a new semester with clashes between demonstrators and pro-government factions, according to local news agencies and posts on social media.

The unrest coincided with mourning ceremonies, traditionally held after 40 days, for those killed during January’s anti-government demonstrations.

They saw thousands lose their lives in the most severe domestic upheaval since Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

A video, reportedly from Tehran's Sharif University of Technology, showed marchers condemning Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a “murderous leader” and advocating for Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran's deposed shah, to assume a new monarchical role.

...

Protests were also held in Beheshti and Amir Kabir universities in the capital Tehran and Mashhad University in the northeast, according to videos published by rights group HAALVSH, which Reuters could not verify.

In the western town of Abdanan, a hotspot for protests, demonstrators chanted "Death to Khamenei" and "Death to the dictator" after the arrest of an activist teacher, according to rights group Hengaw and social media posts.

...

January 8 and 9 were the most deadly 48 hours of the protests, when security forces began firing lethal rounds on protesters under the cover of an internet blackout.

A network of doctors inside Iran estimates the national death toll could exceed 30,000 people. This far outstrips the regime’s figure of 3,117 dead reported on Iranian state TV.

We’ve been searching for a memory-safe programming language to replace C++ in Ladybird for a while now. We previously explored Swift, but the C++ interop never quite got there, and platform support outside the Apple ecosystem was limited. Rust is a different story. The ecosystem is far more mature for systems programming, and many of our contributors already know the language. Going forward, we are rewriting parts of Ladybird in Rust.

A Palestinian child died on Sunday while waiting for Israel to approve his exit from Gaza for medical treatment amid an ongoing healthcare crisis in the enclave, whose medical infrastructure has been destroyed by Israel’s genocidal war.

Nidal Abu Rabeea’s family told Al Jazeera that they had medical referral documents approved to receive treatment abroad, but he was left waiting for 14 months to be allowed out of the enclave of 2.3 million Palestinians, most of whom are displaced.

“Israel closed the crossings and killed my son,” said Iman Hamdouna, his mother, adding that her son struggled with an enlarged liver and high fever for months before his death. He was two and half years old.

Hospitals in Gaza, operating with critical shortages due to curbs imposed by Israel, could not help him and cannot help thousands of other sick and wounded Palestinians who need higher levels of medical care.

“Human rights are under a full-scale attack around the world” as the powerful trample on international law, according to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

“The rule of law is being outmuscled by the rule of force,” he said at the opening of the UN Human Rights Council’s annual session in Geneva on Monday.

Guterres stressed that “this assault is not coming from the shadows or by surprise. It is happening in plain sight – and often led by those who hold the greatest power.”

He did not mention specific situations although he did voice outrage at Russia’s war in Ukraine, where he said more than 15,000 civilians had been killed in four years of violence.

“It is more than past time to end the bloodshed,” he said.
