China’s new device could reach vital undersea fiber optic cables deeper than its competitors’ known remote submersibles.

Impromptu is at once a transfixing audiovisual experience and a whirlwind visual history. In the short, the Spanish director María Lorenzo draws on a wide variety of animated styles and archival footage to build a tribute to ‘the forgotten parents of film’. This includes swift references to pre-cinema devices such as zoetropes and thaumatropes, film pioneers such as the Lumière brothers and Eadweard Muybridge, and visual cultures from around the world. The result feels deeply researched and yet – as the title hints at – somewhat informal, prioritising the kinetic power of moving images over a more formal exploration of their history.

Hey everyone! I've spent the last several months building "Dorsal", an iOS-native music player for Jellyfin with the features that I felt I personally wanted. Designed for those who like to see and listen to their music as an album-focused experience.

I'm interested in getting it in your hands to see what you all think. I have my Jellyfin server set up in a pretty basic way so I'm curious to see if it works well for others too! The code is open-source (MIT-licensed), I have a TestFlight open beta, and it is available on the App Store (it does have a price to support development, developer program fees, etc), so you can get it for free or use and support the production release, up to you! Elon Musk has not attended a voluntary interview he was summoned to appear at in Paris, according to French authorities probing his platform X.

The company's offices were raided by the Paris prosecutor's cyber-crime unit in February over suspected criminal offences related to content on the platform.

Musk was given the date of 20 April for an interview as part of an investigation first launched in 2025 but later widened over concerns about X's chatbot Grok being used to create non-consensual sexual deepfake images.

The Paris prosecutor's office told the BBC in a statement on Monday - without naming Musk - it had "taken note of the absence of the people summoned".

Dankzij verkeerde keuzes door het stichtingsbestuur van het Algemeen Burgerlijk Pensioenfonds (ABP) hebben de ruim 3 miljoen **verplichte **deelnemers de laatste jaren een koopkrachtverlies. En dan moet dit fonds op 1 januari 2027 nog over naar het nieuwe pensioensstelsel waarbij de pensioenen worden bepaald op basis van rendementen op het belegde vermogen van de deelnemers. Door m.n. vele gepensioneerde deelnemers wordt dit moment met spanning tegemoet gezien. Immers de hoogte van hun pensioen zal dus van die rendementen worden bepaald. De laatste jaren was die negatief terwijl de gangbare vermogenbeheerders gemiddeld 7-9% rendement behaalden.

There is a distinct lack of random functions for vectors, so I decided to add some to the Mouse Potato Utils Plugin.

However, I'm not sure whether I should make the right end of the range inclusive (make it a maximum) or exclusive (like the range() function) when it comes to integer vectors.

I'll make it inclusive for now, but what do you think?
