My small bee hotel established in 2021 has been a hit with the local population, usually fully occupied. I see many different native resin, leaf cutter and a few carpenter bees around. Lately, I've been seeing more of these bees or wasps show up. I'm having a great deal of trouble identifying them. Can anyone help me? It has a distinctive round abdomen, single pale yellow ring, and a tail coming out of the torso.

Australia and Canada on Wednesday signed a series of new agreements on critical minerals, Prime Minister Mark Carney said, including Australia joining the G7 minerals alliance.

Western nations have been attempting to diversify their supply chains away from China, which still controls the majority of production and processing of critical minerals, essential for semiconductors and defence applications.

“Earlier today, we signed a series of new agreements on critical minerals, including Australia joining the G7 minerals alliance – the largest grouping of trusted democratic mineral reserves in the world,” Carney said in a speech to Australia’s parliament, on his final day of a three-day visit to the country.

The two countries produce around a third of global lithium and uranium, as well as over 40% of global iron ore.

Let me explain with my current situation. I am 22 F and I currently weigh 305lbs.

I am obese. Morbidly obese.

Even though I have been trying for 5 years at this point to lose the weight on my own. Eat healthier, eat more fruits and veggies, cut out excess sugar, walk more, exercise more, the whole kit and caboodle.

But I still am not losing the weight. I am still very fat. And I am worried that it will cause very serious health problems.

So I talked with my doctor and she told me "We need to get you on a weight loss medication. Let's try Ozempic".

But my insurance told us that they don't think I need the Ozempic so they won't pay for it.

So we tried Wegovy and Mounjaro. But my insurance still rejected our requests.

They're saying because I am young, and I am a diabetic with good numbers, I dont need the weight loss meds and I can just lose the weight naturally.

But ive been trying to and it hasn't been working. So that's why my doctor prescribed me the weight loss med.

Why is this allowed? Why is it that your insurance can deny you a medication, even if your doctor says you need it?

The prime minister’s cautious stance about helping the US against the Tehran regime mirrors that of the electorate

It was perhaps the most attention-grabbing moment of prime minister’s questions. Responding to yet another Conservative salvo about his approach to Iran and how it might affect ties with America, Keir Starmer was direct.

“American planes are operating out of British bases – that is the special relationship in action,” he said. “Sharing intelligence every day to keep our people safe – that is the special relationship in action. Hanging on to President Trump’s latest words is not the special relationship in action.”

And certainly in the last few days, hanging on to and then endlessly, painfully analysing Trump’s ever-changing opinions has become even more of a national pursuit than it was before.

Israelis and some in the Iranian diaspora celebrated when the first blow in the third Gulf war was struck early on Saturday morning, as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of other military and political leaders were wiped out.

The Iranian delegations at the talks in Geneva and Oman had just made a substantial offer, according to the chief negotiator, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi. It was to dilute Iran’s entire stock of highly enriched uranium, with independent verification, thus making it unusable as bomb material.

US President Donald Trump responded with war.

The talks had been a sham all along, just as they had been last June, when the US and Israel attacked Iran for the first time.

Should have called it whatever the Persian guy who first described it named it, maybe the racism would make people take it seriously.

The girls’ school in Iran, where 165 people were killed by an apparent US-Israeli attack, was hit with two strikes, with the second missile killing sheltering survivors, two first responders and the parent of a slain child have told Middle East Eye.

“When the first bomb hit the school, one of the teachers and the principal moved a group of students to the prayer hall to protect them,” one of the Red Crescent medics said, citing conversations he had at the time with survivors.

“The principal called the parents and told them to come and pick up their children. But the second bomb hit that area as well. Only a small number of those who had taken shelter survived.”

Sorry to ask, I don’t want to seem ignorant but I really don’t get it. Like, I saw a post on someone identifying as Norwegian-American and I thought of what another commenter said that most people don’t do the stuff Americans do and how most people will see them as American. But I see many Americans strongly identify with a culture they were raised with. Is it still okay for them to do that? What’s the point?

A major online forum for stolen data has been dismantled following an international operation coordinated by Europol.

The forum, known as LeakBase, had established itself as a central hub in the cybercrime ecosystem, specialising in the trade of leaked databases and so-called “stealer logs” – archives of stolen credentials harvested through infostealer malware. Accessible on the open web and operating in English, the platform combined elements of a forum and discussion board, enabling cybercriminals to buy, sell and exchange compromised data.
