You wouldn't normally think of it, but showers are quite demanding physically. I didn't think about this at all before I got sick, but I learned it very quickly. You do move a lot in all sorts of positions and scrub energetically even if you're standing still.

Tonight I threw up in the shower out of nowhere. Some people say TMI (not here thankfully lol) but it's just my reality.

Why did it happen? Beats me. Your guess is as good as mine. I know now not to take too long when showering otherwise my body starts telling me to hurry it up, but that time it just happened out of nowhere. Was it because I had an eventful week where I didn't pace myself, and my debt was catching up to me? Who knows! This thing doesn't come with a manual, even though some doctors seem to think so.

I used to brush my teeth + mouthwash + wash my hair + shower all at once (seriously brushing your teeth in the shower >>>>>), and now I have to think carefully about adding an extra chore at all. It's either I shower or I brush my teeth in one day, not both, even if I do them separately. I've also learned to not move around as fast, in the shower and in general. I walk slower, I scrub slower, basically I learn to take my time. It's a process.

Well, none of that prevented me from puking tonight but all things considered it has been a while since the last time so that must mean I manage pretty well the rest of the time. Now I'm pooped lol, I don't know if I'm the only one but damn throwing up is taxing.

With winter coming I think I might switch to taking baths. Might need to look the IP rating on my e-reader lol.

I need to watch happier things...

Anyway, I've been on a horror kick recently and found a video talking about the production of Twilight Zone the movie, 1983.

In one scene, the main protagonist, played by Vic Morro, saves two vietnamese children from a village that is under fire from an American Huey helicopter. To give a timeline

Director John LA district concieves the scene

he hired two children, Myca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Yi Chen, under the table, lying to safety crew and even the parents of said children. He doesn't tell safety crew that there'll be children on set, and says to the parents that "there'll just be some loud noises"

upon constructing the set, there are some test runs done. During one run the helicopter pilot complains that the pyrotechnics are too big and risk damaging the helicopter. Landis doesn't change anything

During the filming of the scene, the pyrotechnics are of course way too much. After wading through much of the river, Vic drops Renee. Before he can recover, one of the pyrotechnics launches debris into the helicopters tail rotor and comes crashing down. CW:

spoilerVic and Myca were decapitated by the helicopter blades, while Renee was crushed by the body of the helicopter. Myca's head was later found, and was intially assumed to be a prop until people realized they found a child's decapitated head.

Oh also the parents were on set

Landis goes to Vic's, Renee's and Myca's funeral uninvited. At Vic's funeral he gives a speech saying that it was a "tragic and unavoidable accident"

in court people testify that Landis demanded the helicopter descend further, closer to the action. Of course the aforementioned safety violations were also brought up

Landis is aquitted, and while he does pay some damages in civil suits, goes on to have a successful career. He gifted the jury that acquitted him tickets to his next film

1.Im not a big justice guy. I care if people are fed and clothed. If the Romanovs fucked off to America or something, eh, at least the peasants of russia are getting peace land and bread.

2.I know theres obviously bigger examples. The nazis who got away, a certain terror government rhyming with isn't real, the Atomic terror bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki that I talked about in my last post.

But fuck man. Really? This is such a clear case. Two children died because some rich guy wanted an action scene for some reason. And then he gets to barge into a funeral, say "oops, who could've seen that coming" and then go on to make more crappy movies to get rich off of

Oh and his son would go on to sexually abuse multiple women. Just in case you thought this paragraph would be any good news.

I'm gonna go watch a studio ghibli film or something I'm too depressed for this rn

What would it take for China to sign the Rome Statute? China has played a key role in developing the ICC pretty much since it started and has recently been talking a lot about upholding international law, yet still refuses to officially sign the Rome Statute. With the increasing role China plays in the international community, I think its only a matter of time until they do, it would be great for the PR of the country. Though I do get it if they are afraid that the ICC will go after the fake claims of Xinjiang and other "war crimes" China has committed due to political bias of the court, which is what I'm guessing has been preventing them from signing for the past 3+ decades.

You know, the Lemmygradka from Bangladesh who was super into Kozue Amano's Aria. She was cool and I liked seeing her around, but she hasn't posted in some eight months now, and the last time anybody apparently mentioned her in any capacity was seven months ago. I tried sending her a message on Matrix just now, and maybe I should be a bit more patient because it's only been like a few minutes, but I kinda doubt she's gonna respond. I just hope she's doing OK!

At this point I have fully resigned myself to the fact that Farage is going to win the election in 2029 and am making plans to leave the UK for the foreseeable future. My top choices are China, Vietnam, or Cuba.

I have a Bachelor’s degree and am able to work so this shouldn’t be an issue on my end, and I’m moreso interested in any experience/ideas on what life is like for an immigrant in any of these countries and anything else I should be aware of, possibly even city/area recommendations.

i see that there are several comrades here who share my frustration with the medical establishment. it’s hard to talk about with people who have never had the experience of being discounted and dismissed. i sit here and make memes for lack of anyone to talk to about it.

i’ve also been reading, researching, and keeping notes on ways to organize for the defense of people under circumstances like ours, but there’s no one to share these ideas with bc again, no one wants to listen.

i’m just glad to be here. i’m a little bit timid, but i hope to get to know everyone better with time.

So this government minister, Angela Rayner, has a disabled son, Charlie. He was born prematurely and there were problems during the birth which left him blind and with special needs. Charlie was awarded compensation from the NHS, which was put into a trust for him. This money was his, to help him throughout his life.

Angela Rayner already had two homes, a house she owned, and a free house given to her as a perk of her job. But she decided this wasn't enough. She wanted another one that cost £800K, and stole some of her son's compensation to buy it. On top of this, she committed fraud by claiming it was her only home so she paid less tax on it.

She's been found out now, and has resigned. An everyday prole like us would go to prison if we did all this, but our high and mighty overlords are protected from such consequences. This government treat disabled people like scum for claiming money to live (even though some of them have disabled kids themselves) all the while they are stealing and committing fraud to build up a portfolio of luxury homes.

EDIT: Oh, and Rachel Reeves, the evil minister who has tried to basically end disability benefits? She publicly stated that she supports Angela Rayner and has "full confidence" in her. Birds of an evil feather really do stick together.

The world has known for awhile that things were shifting toward drone warfare, but China just showed off, Air recon/strike craft and VTOLs, Naval surface and subsurface drones, Ground light forces(robo dogs), and heavy forces(mini drone tanks).

They could effectively wage a war without losing a single soldier. Combined with their industrial capacity, and the defensive capability they showed off (Directed energy anti missile systems for example). Its now clear that China would defeat the US in a conventional war. Many of the things shown off in Chinas parade are technologies still in the prototyping phase in the US. The tech gap is closed. Or honestly in Chinas favor at this point.

They had for example drones integrated into their heavy tank forces. With launch platforms on top, and likely piloted from inside. So their tanks can now get a birds eye view of their surroundings at all times. This philosophy is likely an example of how theyll operate in general. With large armored ships, and vehicles acting as mobile control platforms for their vast drone forces. Its the modern equivalent of the air craft carrier. Drone warefare taken to its logical conclusion.

Our comrades in the PLA arent fucking around.

I was sent to see a third-party doctor for some certificate I needed (just got it). First time she met me. The thing with my symptoms is sometimes when im meeting new people they don't show during, but show up worse afterwards. She asked about history and my work capacity, she had a summary from my own doctor, and during the appointment she asks how I manage etc, and at one point says "but I mean you're young, this shouldn't happen, you have your whole life ahead of you, etc. etc."

I was like your job is to sign the document lol what do you care. But I answered politely obviously.

And let me tell you the answer. The answer is you just adapt and live day-by-day. My mind this morning was focused on getting through these appointments, not what I was going to do once I got home, not what I was going to make for dinner, or what I was going to do this weekend. It was solely focused on planning and managing the morning back-and-forth.

It's an insensitive question obviously because that's the only answer there is to give. It shouldn't happen, but it did. I'm too young to get this, but I did. We're looking for a cause, but we're not finding any. It's weird coming from a doctor of all people because they are aware there are no miracle cures. Like what do you want me to say lol, you're right I shouldn't get this thanks I'm cured?

I think she was trying to suss out if I was faking, but she made me the certificate in the end and I'm now comfortably back home resting.

Hi comrades. I got a bit wasted last night and posted a comment that wasn't well thought out or worded and came off as not supporting the trans community. If you read my comment history I've said nothing but total love and support for all my trans comrades so I feel really terrible about it. I tried to delete the comment and reply to the other comments in the thread but it looks like they have banned me.

So I want to just say for the record I love and support you all, and we are all in this fight together. I don't want to create any division or make anyone feel less awesome than they are so please accept my apology.

Recently I was seeing some people talk about the JOKER [2019] movie, and how it wasn't actually that good. While I was reading them I genuinely felt really embarrassed and started to try to come up with reasons why it's actually a good movie. But then i realized i never even watched Joker, I dont even like DC stuff that much, and wasn't even the target of the argument.

I'm starting to realize I do this a lot. When people started criticizing PhilosphyTube recently (for good reason) I felt an inherent impulse to defend her before realizing I never watched her stuff anyway, and only knew her from association with other breadtubers. [Although part of that is probably because I'm trans too and it feels really bad when trans people act stupid and are seen bad].

I even do this with fictional characters. I recently watched a funny animation of the courier from Fallout NV ranting about how "Caesar" (from the same game) doesn't understand hegel or immanant critique and for some goddamn reason a part of my brain was like "well I mean he's not really that dumb." Like no, I don't have to find some reason why he's actually smart. Who cares? Why would I ever care?

like of course i know it's part of their official party platform but holy shit. this wired article kills me. they can't even negotiate during their CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS. they were in a group chat they jokingly called a union. then they immediately, about one message later (if i'm reading this right) fold on bullshit stipulations. like obviously i always knew they expected other people to be doormats to protect their comfort, but it's really something that they can't even help out someone else when it's in their own interest to do so

Only two courses were uploaded to the school website place, but by reading the syllabi for each course my heart is pounding.

This is the first semester where I will be taking a seminar course, as I am in my final year. I went over the requirements and it is asking a lot from someone with horrible anxiety. It may sound silly but I have written time and time again about how hard speaking in class and presenting is for me, even asking a question or having to converse with another student makes my bones ache. I do not know why this happens but maybe it is my body tensing up for a fight or to bolt.

My other class is the last political science class I will be taking, thank god, and it is about civil war. While going through that syllabus I quickly noticed just how much is being assigned and graded. Not only do I have two quizzes, I also have to make my own quizzes based off the lecture and reading materials. Furthermore we will be made to do peer reviews, self assessments, and a whole presentation plus the research paper at the end of the semester. Thankfully the quizzes and the peer reviews are all anonymous so we have no idea who wrote what quiz and which paper we are critiquing.

I tend to overreact a lot, last semester when I read the syllabus I had a whole breakdown crying to my mom on the phone, so I feel like this is what is happening again and I will probably be fine after communicating with my professors and actually seeing how the class works in person. But even so my anxiety is not going away. I guess I am writing here because I was hoping to know if anyone has felt similarly to me, or can give me some insight into how these higher level courses work because I feel very worried I am not built for this, but I want to be.

Sorry for the anxious rant. I do look forward to continuing the chronicles starting tomorrow.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the car is fixed. Thank you so much to everyone who answered my aid post. Now I can continue my medical treatments and get everywhere else I need to go.

And I've been given a date to start my shockwave therapy, which people here helped me with. Honestly don't know what I would have done without all the wonderful people here.

I never thought about it because I don't travel a lot in the first place. But I realized, it's just not just about being able to park closer to the storefront or wherever, it's about being guaranteed a parking space so that you don't have to drive around town 5 times.

In my condition I can't drive for too long so I can't drive around to find the elusive parking spot close to my destination. It would give me more options basically.

This is an overlooked point of these parking spaces. Even I only realized they had this advantage to them earlier today lol.

I checked how to get one and they say it's for people who can't walk more than 200m. I checked on google and the storefront I sometimes walk to is over 300m away lol so that's a given. We'll see if the authorities will see it the same way, and I need to get my doctor on board too but that should be possible.

The card also gives parking privilege outside of parking spaces but it's very limited, so I'm not sure from the way it's worded when you could actually use that lol. But that could definitely be useful to me sometimes.

Other advantages of disabled parking are wider spots which allow caregivers to maneuver and ramps to deploy, preserving our very limited energy for the stuff that actually matters, and (tying in with what I said above) giving autonomy to disabled people.

For those who didn’t know, I am a 29-year old gamer and college student. I was diagnosed with autism since early age.

I am very dependent on my pension and my aunt on my budget, however most of it went for food. So I have set this fundraising to help me cover college-related fees, free tuition couldn’t cover beyond intended purpose.

Today, I find myself in urgent need of support. Despite these overwhelming challenges, my determination remains unyielding. I believe in the power of kindness and empathy, which motivates me to reach out to you.

Please if you can spare anything, Thank you!

Recently I spoke to a friend from Venezuela to ask her about the situation on the ground and if she's safe and whatnot. Of course the topic of conversation veered into politics and so I asked about what she thought of Maduro and such, suffice it to say she did not think positively of him.

So I'm just curious, what are other Venezuelan comrades' opinions on Maduro and his administration, and the general population's opinions. I knew many had a gripe with him because they perceived him to be the problem for the economics crisis Venezuela went through (not US intervention).

Please educate and correct me and give your own opinions, thanks.

Reform UK is clearly winning over the minds of class unconscious workers. One of them is a young relative of mine. I'd love to have a talk in future, in a good setting, to help the lad out of this reactionary path he's headed now.

It's the typical stuff: immigrants committing sexual violence, stealing jobs, out breeding the "whites", coming into the country illegally, given all the money, not working, benefit exploiting, being uncivilised savages etc.

I've heard the co-workers are enforcing this reactionary world view. Obviously I cannot barge in to the workplace, and change the environment, so I'm expecting this will take quite a bit longer than one afternoon tea lasts.

I believe he'll be a fine lad, if he doesn't fall any further, and finds a way out. I just feel I shouldn't let him to dive deeper. There is already plenty of fascist propaganda to dispel.

How would you, dear online comrades, go about setting a young lumpen lad on the path to gain class consciousness?

PS. Title in the tune of Drunken Sailor.

EDIT: Thank you so much to those who contributed, this is a big weight off my mind and now I can continue with all my medical treatments!

You've probably read my previous posts about how I need to get my landlady's car repaired and pay for petrol. It's necessary for getting to my hospital appointments. Otherwise I'll have to spend what I've been given on hospital transport/taxis to my appointments and when it's gone, I will have to cancel further appointments.

I have 6 months to go until my benefit appeal is heard. Then, if I win, they will check my bank accounts for the previous 6 months, and I don't know if I'll get in trouble for people giving me money. I usually ask people to write that it's a gift just in case, but I don't know if they'll accept that. So from the end of this month I don't think I feel safe accepting actual money. But actual money is the only way to get the car issue sorted. So if I can't get enough by the end of this month, I'm screwed.

Getting the full amount seems so near but so far. If 4 people would give £20 each, the target would be met this weekend. That would be a huge problem solved for me. I know everyone is hard up at the moment, but I thought I would ask again anyway as the situation is really causing me a lot of anxiety.

If anyone can help my paypal is the_mighty_tabs@hotmail.co.uk
