I can assure you, it was not Apple's idea. Not like they just turned good hearted and chose to do it ๐คฃ
Didn't think it was. Looks like Japan creating similar laws as EU.
More like preserved them since saner times. I think I've read about you being able to choose from 20+ payment systems in Japan, everywhere. And it's also normal to use cash.
They have also kept a saner version of IP laws for fan fiction. You can legally produce and sell fan fiction there, with some limitations to genre and kind of media.
