Donald Trump has said it would be “an honor” take Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado’s Nobel Peace Prize if she offered it to him, as he prepares to meet the exiled politician next week.

Machado has been in hiding due to persistent threats on her life, emerging only briefly in Oslo after a three-day mission in which she was smuggled out of the country with the help of the U.S. military for the Nobel ceremony.

How could she transfer the Nobel prize? Sure, prize winners get a medal, a diploma, and monetary award, but what's really important is the recognition and the honor of being a Nobel laureate. A lot of them give the prize money to charity, and...

...oh lord, it's the gold medal. [REDACTED] is such a toddler that he's captivated by shiny, gold baubles.

I mean, Trump stole the soccer Club World Cup trophy and put it in the Oval office, leaving the actual champions with a replica.

He doesn't give a shit about the accomplishment, only about the prize.

No no, you see...the brackets imply it's optional. You are not optional. You are EXPECTED!

He's a malignant narcissist. He's literally crazy. It wouldn't surprise me if all of the actions he's taken against Venezuela since the Prize was announced comes down to this attempt to literally start a war to steal it and then scream "Nah nah nah! I'm as good as Obamna! No! Better! The best!"

All we've needed this whole time is a raccoon trap.

It's like the Purple Heart all over again.

Though at the same time, it's not really that much of a surprise, is it? The man loves gold-coloured things.

Honestly, if I could buy the reign over my country with a medal, I would try
