There's a big difference between the two.

You can work with a stable dictator. You know what's coming or what to expect. You know where they'll push their weight around and that it was a highly calculated move based on shrewd political acumen.

With an unstable one, you get tariffs imposed, cancelled, reimposed, reduced because of flattery, accusations, insults and the smell of shit in the air.

Lawful evil compared to chaotic evil.

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Precisely.

We have a choice between doing business with a dictator who acts calmly and predictably, or a raving lunatic who fucks kids.

As opposed to your stable leader that just covers for the swells that fucked kids with epstein, made his name purging the left and crushing popular reform from the labor party, and has cancelled the right to protest, locked down the internet and created a masterbaitorbase, cancelled the Magna Carta and it's jury trials to a larger extent than the traitorous tories before them in 2020, and what else, bad faith terror designations to crush dissent against the very country that epstein was employed to compromise politicians for?

Not so good all that, in fact the UK has lost more than the US since the US president came into power it appears, even if they don't realize it, or even support it because it's "their" side doing it.

Pipe down and go take your meds

[–] hector@lemmy.today -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How about you get a fucking spine and defend your freedoms from the aristocracy that is playing you while they take away your freedoms and make you into a slave? You aren't special, you guys are even further along in getting fucked than we are.

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No thanks. I'll stick to the topic in hand, which was agreeing with the person before me that doing business with a calm and consistent dictator is preferable to doing business with an unhinged lunatic

[–] hector@lemmy.today 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Is it though, because that's what you have and you are losing more than we are. Which is my point. I rational sounding actor can do more damage than a blowhard. Your country is proof of that, mate.

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk 1 points 2 days ago

Which is why I'd prefer we do business with neither.

But instead of having a rational conversation about it you've launched on some rant against me.

I'm bored of you now.
