Top Democratic officials who worked on the party's still-secret autopsy of the 2024 election concluded that Kamala Harris lost significant support because of the Biden administration's approach to the war in Gaza, Axios has learned.

The Democratic National Committee's research on what went wrong in 2024 has been under lock and key since party leaders decided last year to hide it from the public — a reflection of how explosively it could resonate within the party and beyond.

Axios independently verified that Democratic officials conducting the autopsy believed the issue harmed the party's standing with some voters.

The IMEU Policy Project is now accusing the DNC of withholding its report in part because of its findings on Israel.

She definitely lost a lot of progressive enthusiasm on her support for genocide.

She definitely didn't lose because of Gaza. Only 2% of americans had foreign policies as thst include people who cared sbout ukraine rather than Gaza and pwople who support the terrorist state of Israel.

She may have won michigan and wisconsin but still have lost the election because of pennyslvania and georgia

She did kill a massive amount of progressive momentum and turned the most vocal advocates for Democrats into the most vocal opposition.

It is very possible her support for genocide cost her the election.

Not enough to make her lose the election. Economy is the major reason it directly impact all Americans

Of course that is the main driving factor but the difference in votes between Trump and Harris was rather small so this could have definitely made the difference.

She may have won Michigan and Wisconsin if she was better on Gaza but that's all. She would still not reach the necessary 270 electoral vote
