When I visited a few years ago, it was already way over developed. There are constant bus loads of tourists, the walkways were drowning in selfie sticks. I would not pay for that "experience".
It's just not worth going to see it, better to go to any other spots along the coast.
Just like the Three Sisters up in the Blue Mountains; just loads of Asian tourists taking a couple of selfies before hopping on the tour bus again. Not supporting local businesses, not taking a look at Katoomba Falls or the nice botanic gardens, just getting it over with as fast as possible.
At that point you could just get a greenscreen and chromakey yourself in at home, heck of a lot cheaper...
These tour bus companies are a disservice to our entire tourism industry.
I'm not sure if I blame them more than the people who go on these tours, though, for some people it's literally just "been there, done that".
A lot don't speak English though, so they may not be aware what they are signing up for
Fair enough, but nowadays there's so many options in terms of translation. Doesn't really work if some talking head talks you into it but you shouldn't take offers like that anyway imo.
That's many tourist attractions all over the world.
Sure, but that doesn't make it OK.
It’s absolutely worth going to see it. The drive itself is beautiful, and the remaining apostles are well worth seeing no matter how many people are there. The helicopter rides are worth it as well.
No argument on the drive, but the apostles themselves are not worth it imo. There are half a dozen other interesting coastal sites in the area, that are far less busy, and just as picturesque.
