... The world has gone very wrong when this doesn't even sound so unbelievable. I only see one issue:

So far the US seems to have given up trying to make pretext for anything. Trump can do anything he wants and be worshipped for it.

He still has to manufacture consent, and blaming the brown people for random bombings is the classic way. It's not just unbelievable, it will happen.

He'd do it if he wants to restart the draft for troops on the ground.

That being said, I don't think it would acrually work that well and could easily backfire within the US. At the very least he would need heavy congressional support.

It wouldn't work well. I'm old as fuck but most Americans are flat out not doing it. This is not Vietnam.
