So God has a plan for the end times but humans can hasten that plan, that means humans can force God to change his plans. That isn't much of a God you have there. May I suggest picking another imaginary super power, or better yet, none at all?
Well, there's a lot in the pre-Christian parts of the Bible about prophets haggling with God.
You're looking for rationality in a bag of insane geese...
Also: praying for a beneficial outcome.
Which means changing god's plans!
I can't wait for sports matches to turn into praying-matches, whomever prays the best, wins!
