Paul McCartney’s official Reddit account seems to have been banned. The account, u/paulmccartney, had just dropped a set of photos and videos from the first night of his shows at the Fonda Theatre. It went straight into the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit. Then, not long after, the whole thing disappeared.

How does that biowaste bin fire still have users who can read and write?

The other night I was watching John Stewart and he made an interesting comment. He said that reddit only recently became usable because it was too gross before. Insane especially from him

whoever has the most users has most of the users. until they decide they don't have any users, they will continue to have this true statement be correct constantly

Because there are still a lot of content creators, especially in the technology field. If the process of sharing code and projects and receiving feedback took place on another platform, nobody would use Reddit. That's my only reason.

Reddit has a lot of established local community subreddits, and when you are that established, its hard to give up.

Disclaimer: I was just banned on a second account after being found out for my first ban (I said some things with, well, lets say "high praxis") and I am not happy about it.

I too am a refugee from Reddit.

Do we refer to ourselves as Lemmings now?

I was banned for prohibited content on my “other accounts.”

I only have one account. (Appeal was denied, and I suspect the entire operation was done by bots. It literally said, “go look at your other accounts to see what you did wrong.”)

Meanwhile, another user over there is advocating violence against a very well known public figure (I'm sure you can guess what and who), and the comment is still up and the poster is not banned. -throws up hands-

I'm guessing this public figure is someone with...questionable involvement in current affairs, or is not aligned with Conservative interests?

Yep checks out.

i got first permabanned by a mod from r/news for commenting "when a terrorist hides in a school full of children it is not ok to blow up the school with the children still in it" under an article about IDF doing just that while hunting for some hamas fighters (no warning, no previous infractions, straight permaban, reason: "you broke the community rules" - no further explanation). it hurt a bit cause i did not participate in any political discussions normally. but shortly after that there was a picture of WW2 nazi flag on someone's front yard in ohio and people started suggesting that someone should bring a veteran to this person to explain them the error of their ways. i didn't resist and responded that this person knows exactly what they are doing and they do it cause there are no consequences to it. i also wrote that somebody should "tar and feather them and chase them around" - after which my account got restricted cause "we are trying to create a community where everyone can feel safe and therefore we cannot tolerate calls for violence against others".

I got banned for keeping it too real. 😎
