This question was inspired by a meme I just saw, and my longtime crush on Brad Pitt, who’s 45 years older than me.

Youngest: my age. Oldest: if it’s someone in as good shape as Brad Pitt, the sky’s the limit.

My wife's age, down to the second.

When I was 14 other 14year olds interested me, now I know a few that age because they go to school with my kids, but even if I was single they are too immature. About 22 they are mature enough I might consider but overall I'm glad I'm married and don't have to worry about it

Your reasoning for not dating children is deeply concerning to me

[–] bluGill@fedia.io 2 points 41 minutes ago

My posted reasoning is not a complete list.

"I think they're too immature" is an excellent reason. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. It would be harmful to the child because of that immaturity. They are not attractive because of that immaturity. They are not suitable for partnerships with adults because of their immaturity.

A more deeply concerning reason would be "because it's illegal."

Your wife flies in a rocket ship near the speed of light on a round trip to Alpha Centauri.

If I understand your meaning, your dating age range would change as you communicated over the 9ish years of her trip.

[–] bluGill@fedia.io 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

My dating range would actually change less in that situation than it normally does because in the normal situation she's getting older by one second per second continuously whereas in the relatively case she's getting older at a slower pace

You're right. Thanks for the well thought-out explanation.
