Banned from Feddit.org for arguing against libelous statements calling others Nazis
(sh.itjust.works)
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YPTB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.

Not defending any of this but...
Are you even German? This seems like a bit of dead-end. It's the accusations towards an instance, not an individual. It's closer to a conspiracy theory than anything actionable under libel law.
EDIT: I like how I get downvoted, but multiple people saying the same thing as me get upvoted.
Feddit.orgs argument for removing anti-Zionist content was that hosting it is against German law.
If calling others Nazis is against German law and they are hosting (and defending) content doing so, surely that is something to be investigated.
I will leave it to the authorities to judge the value of it.
ACAB. Nothing good will come from inviting state-violence into this.
My thoughts on "authorities" aside, you'll do a lot more continuing to look into things here than anything else imo.
And solid work getting this info together in the first place BTW, thank you
For this to get anything done you would need to hand over personal information to the police, as only the smallest amount of anonymous tips result in any kind of police action in Germany.
But better yet, instead of going to the cops, keep doing what you are doing here in fact checking those claims and spreading the message when you find a lie. That would actually be worth your time.
No one is going to touch that...this literally has no victims or personal info for them to follow. It's online drama and that's basically it.
Calling someone nazi could be considered an insult if the person is indeed not a nazi, which will be determined by a court.
It necessarily requires the libelled person to file a criminal complaint. If you have not been personally insulted, you are wasting your time because you are ineligble to file such a complaint.
This does not apply to politicians, whose insulting can be prosecuted if it's in particular interest to the public as well as members of groups prosecuted by the Nazis, if the insult is related to their prosecution. No particular public interest required in the latter case.
See: §194 (1) Stgb
That is to say: You are wasting your time. Have fun sending your name, address and contact information to the German police to be stored for a while. Anonymous criminal complaints are always ignored.
I would also have to inquire that even if Loco_Max has been insulted in this way, would it apply to non-Germans?
I have zero clue. Could not find anything confirming or denying it.
Is that a specific law? And I assume that only applies to German citizens, not just random people (and not even people but their online alias) or communities online not hosted in Germany.
