Steam Hardware
A place to discuss and support all Steam Hardware, including Steam Deck, Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and SteamOS in general.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:
[Flair] My post title

[Discussion] - General discussion.
[Help] - A request for help or support.
[News] - News about the deck.

[Meta] - Discussion about this community.
If your post is only relevant to one hardware device (Deck/Machine/Frame/etc) please specify which one as part of the title or by using a device flair.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:
- Follow the rules of Sopuli
- Posts must be related to Steam Hardware or Steam OS in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
- This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.

I hope they add quick chat to Steam Input so that we can use it with in-game chats as well. Even just having one that types out "sorry, I can't chat, I'm on a Steam Deck" would be great.
Technically it's possible to do that already, I've seen Lethal Company configs where you a touchpad menu to enter all the computer commands for navigation/shop/etc. It's definitely a pain to setup though, and I'd be really nice to have an easier way to set it up.
I wish there was a way to "update" your current config from a downloaded one, by "merging" rather than "replacing". In example what I think of is, download a single menu configuration, then use "update" to add it to the touch pad in example. The rest of your config would stay intact. Sure if you are not careful, this could mess up things. But having this option is better than not having it. We could have modular configs.
