You can use Pipepipe, Libretube, Clipious or Newpipe without a google account and still have all of your channel subscriptions.

What happens when the Google API decides it can't identify you, or comes across an offensive video (like world news, or worse, a gay person), and then tells you to sign in?

I don't think Tubular (a NewPipe fork) has the option to use a proxy like Invidious, which may be a workaround...

Ive never had an issue with the google api trying to identify me when using pipepipe or libretube. You can also use microg which allows you to sign in and spoofs it like a google account.

I believe it's one or the other: If you don't have issues playing videos, then you've been identified to some degree...

Well dont see how considering I dont log in with an account and Im behind a vpn and I use it on GrapheneOS. Either way its one of the best ways to use YouTube without an account and see no ads.

Very interesting. Some things to tinker with this weekend! Thanks

Yeah, definitely recommend one of those, especially pipepipe or libretube. No account needed, subscriptions to channels still and best of all not one single ad.

Got home and looked in to these. They're all for mobile, huh? I don't really have an issue using youtube.com in a browser on mobile, at least I can block ads that way.

I spend a lot of time on big screen (linux) for youtube.

Im on linux on pc and you can use FreeTube app on pc then. Same thing, no need for an account and can still subcribe to channels. I use it daily.
