Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

4) NSFW is okay, within reason

NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

Yeesh. You're clearly hurt, but being judgemental and spiteful will not help you find a better person.
Oh, that was ages ago
I'm engaged to a wonderful person, and she's ("she" being the parasite ex) still a loser living with absolutely zero prospects
I only ever think of her when questions like this pop up
But stoners are losers. There's a reason why they're the butt of jokes
It's kinda crazy how confidently you can state something so verifiably false. Thousands of successful engineers, artists, IT supports, etc are getting high off their asses the minute they get home. Makes me wonder what other stereotypes you judge people based on.
That people who get defensive about something being associated with being a loser tend to react that way for a reason
Are you one of these amazing success stories?
I wouldn't say "amazing", but I fly around the country working on equipment worth more than your house.
I mean, I’m not OC, but, I run a not unsuccessful little start up, woke up 20 minutes ago, and I’m going to smoke weed.
Now, this isn’t a defining characteristic of my personality, nor do I think it’s a positive aspect of my life necessarily, like all vices, but, like all things that involve people, it’s a spectrum.
I can make the argument that drinking alcohol is just as vile, and people that do it habitually are losers. However, is would be asinine for me to say everyone that has ever drank habitually is a failure. Cause that’s simply not true.
If I was drinking, 20 minutes after getting up, I'd rightly be decried as a loser
Stoners are losers
Note, there's a difference between a stoner and someone who smokes weed.
You "only ever think of her when questions like this pop up" but apparently you've also been keeping tabs on her this whole time despite this being long ago and you being engaged? How weird.
