Yeah, I have some family in florida who I constantly have to tell to get a second opinion before having operations. I always tell them when in doubt to go to a hospital associated with a university medical program. At least then they have to uphold some kind of standard of care so they don't lose their residency programs under further scrutiny.
I'm currently splitting my specialist between Orlando health and Advent health over close to Orlando. Pretty much everyone in Sumter country will just end up killing you. It's common knowledge that the local hospitals are just death traps.
University of Florida took them over from the Morse family to try and fix the mess. But they are struggling to improve care. The Morse family that created the Villages, are some seriously evil dudes and the health systems they created show it,
